Hello Spencer.
So that you don't continue to get people asking you what your proper name is, because most us use that on here, you can go to Edit Profile and enter your proper name under 'Real Name'. Then it will appear underneath your Username in all your posts. You can also enter your location so that it does the same, just as in my details alongside this message. Then we all know where everyone is in the world.
I hope you enjoy being involved with CiC.
Hi everyone, my name is Isiaka and I'm from Chicago, IL USA. I love all aspects of photography and I refuse to specialize on one form, I try to do it all. But my main goal is to gain and share knowledge. I use the Sony a77 16-50mm 2.8 and a Sigma 50mm 1.4.

Hello to All,
I am an avid amateur, having been interested in photography for many years now. I have been shooting digital images since digital became available, and film prior to that. I live in the Washington, D.C. area and tend to focus on landscape, nature and cityscape photography. I had the opportunity to live and travel in Europe for 5 years (living in Brussels), and have traveled extensively in the United States as well. I look forward to learning more through visits to CiC.

Hi! My name is Jim, I'm an amateur photographer. I photograph mostly portraits, but am trying to up my game in landscape and study. I live in Canada and am hoping to learn a lot here.
Larry - great to have you here and thank you for 'signing-up'. I hope you enjoy being part of CiC and that it does contribute to your ongoing photographic learning and development. But I also hope that you will make your knowledge and experience available to others so that they too can learn.
Hi Donald , my name is Stosh , Im one of those crazy bird photograhers (working things out on my own for the most part)
in Orlando Florida.
I saw some constructively critical opinions on some photos others posted ,and I find that to be the most refreshing I have seen on the web in a long time, so I figured to join and when I get to a point of having shots worthwhile to post ..will do so.
Stosh - great to have you here.
There are some folks who regularly post up some wonderful bird images and I know all of them will be more than happy to have you join them in discussing all the 'how do do it' stuff and comparing and contrasting ideas and images.
I hope you enjoy being involved.
By the way, if you wish, you can go to Edit Profile and enter your location so that it shows up alongside all your posts, just as in my details alongside this message. Then we all know where everyone is in the world.
Done..
Are there threads I can go directly to for my interest or are they spread out?
You make a good point. Thank you!Jim - I hope that CiC does indeed help you to learn and to develop your knowledge and skills.
By the way, if you're happy to be addressed as Jim, you might want to go in and edit your name in Edit Profile so that it's 'Jim' rather than 'J.W.' that appears.
I'm amateur and have been interested in photography for many years. I enjoy shooting landscape. I hope to learn more here and developing my skills further.
Hi I'm Barry. Been in photography for many years but only recently into Digital. Looking forward to picking up some tips and tips on photoshop Elements 11.
Hello Barry and welcome to CiC. I hope you enjoy being part of the forum and that it does help you with ongoing development.
By the way, you've maybe seen that most of us tend to use our real names on here. It makes communication more friendly and CiC is that sort of site. Did you know you can go to Edit Profile and enter your proper name under 'Real Name'. Then it will appear underneath your Username in all your posts. You can also enter your location so that it does the same, just as in my details alongside this message. Then we all know where everyone is in the world.
