Looking for some enlightenment in the subject of color management it was by coincident (reed Google and good SEO-work at CiC) I stumble in to find this site. What a great surprise!
Great tutorials – straight forward and with an approach that I think will satisfy both beginners and skilled.
That also gave a hint about the overall atmosphere, and yes, I found it friendly so why not join in, despite I’m already member in some other? Well, I just did.
For the time being I mostly looking forward to read the new tutorials that I saw was planned to come up. And for the future - if I need some help to answer photo related questions the CiC forum looks like a good place to try. Hopefully I could contribute in some area where I have some knowledge too.

Good day all.
Having "lurked" around the site for a while, I thought it time to take the plunge and join the community.
I've listed photography as a hobby for, oh, 30 years (20 happy years with my trusty Canon AE-1), but in truth I've only been paddling around in the shallow end, so to speak. The time has come, I think, to put a bit more effort into it.
I've been using a Canon EOS 450D since 2009, having gone properly digital with a 400D a couple of years earlier. I enjoy outdoor/travel/landscape photography, as indeed does my wife, who currently uses the old 400D (but is muttering about an upgrade).
Looking forward to learning from others on here.
All the best
John
John - Given where you live, I hope you quickly feel that is indeed your spiritual photographic 'home'. Great to have you here.
You've probably already got a good idea of how the forum works and the sort of approach that's taken in terms of trying to be helpful and constructive. So, please do jump in and use the forum to your best advantage.
Well, I'm delighted to be part of this group. My name is John Willetts. My wife and I recently retired and moved to the Phoenix, AZ area from Ohio. Much more time for photography, and the subjects are endless here. I've been stumbling around with digital photography for about 12 years, and it's now time to get serious. I have a DSLR and several lenses and will welcome this forum's help as I move along. My favorite subjects are landscape and floral, and I'll be delighted to post some of my work for critiques.
Welcome, John. Great to have you here and thank you for joining.
I hope CiC proves to be a helpful resource that allows you to develop your knowledge and skills, as well as providing a online environment where you feel you can share ideas as well as images.

Hello Donald, I am new here and like to know how to add an avatar. Thank you for your help.
Hello, Just joined. I was always interested in photography, mostly snaps of family and places I visited. Got my first DSLR Aug 2011, Nikon D3100. Did a couple of courses since then and discovered the difference between snaps and photography. I know very little about editing except through View NX or Picasa. I don't have Photoshop though I have just ordered Elements 11, so not really into RAW yet. Looking forward to learning a lot more, perhaps getting some of my images taken apart (gently). Here's one that I like taken near Dingle, Co Kerry in September.

Hi All,
My name is Ian, I live just north of Inverness, Scotland. Have enjoyed photography for many years, great site glad I found my way here.
Hello
My name is Luis; I am from Puebla, Mexico and currently I live in US in the state of South Carolina.
I work for a company that produce auto part for the automotive industry and I been worked there since 16 years ago.
Why I decided to join this photography comunity? because the photography has been a repressed passion in my life. I took just a basic course when I was in highschool in Mexico but it was very expensive but really nice when I develop my pictures now with the digital era it is easier than before and I want to learn more about this art. Unfortunatly I don not have the gift or the eye but I think this will come if I practice and share my pictures to receive a feedback.
Well this is my start.

Hello Michael and many thanks for joining CiC. And thanks also for the picture to open your account.
I'm sure you'll find that Elements 11 opens up a whole new world to you so far as post-processing is concerned and enables you to start exploring the use of RAW files. At first it will feel like a step backwards, but once you appreciate that you are now fully in charge of the data and can make it work to what you want so far as your final image is concerned, you'll not look back.
I hope that you also find the support on here constructive and helpful. The aim of the site is learning and that can only ber achieved if we share knowledge and experience
