Hi, after buying an A99 Sony I decided I wanted to learn more and CiC seems a good place to do so.
I like to shoot everything and do most pictures in Jpeg, PP I do with Ps and Lr if needed.
I'm aware Raw might give a better result, but I find it a waste of time, because out of the camera IQ most of the time is near to perfect.

I use Minolta 35-7- F4 and Sony 18 -135 on the moment and I'm pleased with the results.

Mike - Hello and welcome to CiC. Glad you've decided to join.

If you ask for C & C on images you'll find most folk assuming that you're shooting in RAW and they'll respond accordingly in terms of making suggestions re post-processing. You might want to point out when images have been shot as JPEGs.

The only way you find out thing is to read, practice and ask questions. This site can help with the first and third of those. You're in charge of the second. Something else you might find useful. Sometimes people are not sure about asking for comments and criticism on their images. This thread gives you some helpful advice and guidance about how to get the best feedback from fellow members.

So that you don't continue to get people asking you what your proper name is, because most us use that on here, you can go to Edit Profile and enter your proper name under 'Real Name'. Then it will appear underneath your Username in all your posts.

Hi, my name is Kyle, I'm 31. I was born, raised, and still reside in a small rural town in Illinois. I have shared the last 10 years of my life with my loving wife. We have 2 amazing children whom both force us to learn new things everyday. The things we learn from them and because of them is mind blowing to us due to their age.

I have been messing around with photography since our children were born using point and shoot cameras. Just recently my wife purchased me a Nikon D3100 as a gift. Currently I have AF-S DX VR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G and AF-S DX VR Zoom 55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED for lenses.

I enjoy the outdoors and love to document all the things I see. Also love to annoy my children by taking photos of them doing everyday things.

I found CiC when doing a search for photography tutorials and have visited the many great tutorials almost on a daily basis since. I look forward to learning new techniques to become a better photographer and sharing my experiences while learning.

Hi everyone. I'm Norman from North Yorkshire. I shoot mainly landscape and travel, with a bit of architecture and wildlife for variety. My main camera is a Canon 5D II. and I've got interested in photography since I retired five years ago. I still regard myself as an enthusiastic beginner, and am very gradually getting to grips with CS5. I look forward to having some better weather to get out more with my camera, but in the meantime I'm enjoying exploring what is available on CIC. It's an Aladdin's cave alright! Particularly interested in subtle HDR and black and white conversions at present. Regards, Norman
