Re: NEW MEMBER? please introduce yourself here
Hi there, I am glad to join this group. I am a part time wedding photographer. Sometime 1st shooter and sometime 2nd shooter.
Now look like nikon has introduced d7100. This camera will be on the market by early next month. Right now I am using d90 with 18105. I was actually looking forward for d300s cusscussor but unfortunately nikon release d7100. I think nikon is pushing us to buy d7100 first then they will release the new d300s successor. I am actually waiting for the d300s successor not the d7000 successor. For those who like to purchase d7100, just wait for few months. Most of the nikon new camera has some issue.

You'll get plenty of people on here asking for your advice and guidance. Doing wedding photography is always one of the hottest topics of conversation when it's mentioned.
Thank you for joining CiC and I hope you enjoy it.
So that you don't continue to get people asking you what your proper name is, because most us use that on here, you can go to Edit Profile and enter your proper name under 'Real Name'. Then it will appear underneath your Username in all your posts. You can also enter your location so that it does the same, just as in my details alongside this message. Then we all know where everyone is in the world.

Hi Jose, and welcome. O, si prefieres, hola y bienvenido en Cambridge in Colour.
I'm glad you have found both photography and this site. There are many great photographers here who are always willing to share their knowledge, and many excellent tutorials.
I think it will be very interesting to see you bring together your artistic talents and your photography, and I hope we will see some images soon.
All the best,
Dave

Hi,
I'm Andrew. I've been taking photographs for around 50 years. I spent years lugging an SLR and loads of lenses around but now have have a Fuji X100 and X-E1. A lot of the time I just go out with the X100 - so liberating after all that weight and all necessayr adjustments available on real dials not menus :-)
Re: NEW MEMBER? please introduce yourself here
Hi, my name is Estelle. I am a novice with a newly aquired entry level Canon EOS D1100. I enjoy taking pictures of anything... that inspires me. Although a novice, I have taken some decent shots... but more from luck than knoweldge and experience. I want to learn, and would appreciate constructive feedback on any images I submit and any advice. Having had a look at some of the mini competition shots, I have a long way to go. Looking forward to spending some time on here. :) P.s. this is my first sign up to any forum, so bare with me.

Now, Andrew, there just HAS to be a story behind that User Name! Does photography and cycling ever get combined?
Great to hafve you here and i hope you enjoy being involved ... and that some of that 50 years worth of experience is shjared in order to help others learn and grow their knowledge and skills.
Re: NEW MEMBER? please introduce yourself here
I ride a recumbent tricycle. Rode one from Lands End to John o Groats a couple of years ago. Most of my cycling photography is taken on a mobile phone so for my own memories rather than for sharing. However I hope to take the X100 next time I tour so the quality should be better.
I'm old enough to have started my photography before the days of auto everything so although I use it I do know how to tweak the settings where necessary. The only auto I actually need is autofocus as my eyes are not what they used to be.
Re: NEW MEMBER? please introduce yourself here
Hi everyone :) I'm Mir. I'm new and very VERY excited to have found this place. I took photography in high school and loved it and have just gotten back into it these past few months. I live in a small town in Georgia, USA. Being able to interact with other photographers and learn from them is really limited. I want to learn as much as possible, so being able to join a community like this is amazing! I look forward to getting to know everyone here and please don't ever hesitate to give me feedback or advice or healthy criticism.
Just to share a bit about me. I absolutely love hiking and being out in nature. I also love animals, especially my dog. Oh and I'm also learning graphic editing and design right now. I currently have a point and shoot compact camera and do photo editing and graphic design with GIMP.

You have my respect and admiration.
(For non-UK folks who don't know what that means, it from the top of the UK to the bottom - or the other way round depending on which way you do it!)

Estelle - It is wonderful to have you here and thank you for choosing CiC to be the first forum that you have signed up to.
The good thing about this forum, I think, is that it's about learning. So, when you see other images and think you've a long way to go, just remember that everyone on here was once in exactly the same position that you are in now. The first time I ever posted an image (not on here) and asked for feedback, the silence was rather demoralising. But it's about having the determination to keep going.
So, please do ask lots of questions. People on here are always willing to help.

Thanks Donald, that's very encouraging. Oh don't worry, I am sure I will have lots of questions. So thanks to everybody in advance.

Hello everyone. I am Milt Findley, I live in Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin near Milwaukee. I use a Canon 7D and I am still very much in the learning stage. I am interested in nature photography primarily, but I love the technical aspects of the hobby even though I have a difficult time nailing them down and making use of them sometimes. This is a very fine website and the tutorials have been immensely helpful to me already. I am looking forward to learning more here.

I'm glad I'm not the only one!
Welcome Milt. Great to have you here and thank you for joining. I do hope that being part of the forum adds to usefulness of CiC for you.

Hello to everyone! My name is Aniruddha. I'm 16 years old. I'm from Mumbai, India currently living in Muscat, Oman. I'm currently in class 10. I've been taking photos since a year. I've been greatly helped by some of the tutorials here. Looking forward to have a great time with all you great people.
Regards
Aniruddha
Re: NEW MEMBER? please introduce yourself here
Hello Aniruddha,
A warm welcome to Cambridge in Colour - it's especially good to have young people here (I wish there had been places like this, even an internet, when I was your age).
I'm very pleased that you have found the tutorials helpful. When you have questions, don't be afraid to ask - everyone here is always ready to offer advice and encouragement.
In the year you have been taking photographs have you found things that particularly interested you? It would be nice to see some of your images when you feel ready.
Best regards,
Dave
Re: NEW MEMBER? please introduce yourself here
Thank you Dave, as you asked me above, I have found many things that interested me. Taking pictures of particularly landscapes and architecture please me a lot. Generally, I like to photograph anything that is interesting and I don't always restrict myself to those. I've tried some HDR images too and I'm starting to love that technique of post-processing. Will be posting pictures for critiques soon!
Regards
Aniruddha
