My name is Judy and I just became a new member 4.6.13. I enjoy photographing landscapes, beaches and ocean waves, flowers, gardens and my cats. I really started getting into photography about 2 years ago. Bought a Nikon D3000 in January of 2010 before our anniversary trip to Hawaii in June. Looking forward to seeing everyone's pictures and learning from everyone. Happy Shooting!!
Hello Judy and welcome to the CiC forum.
I hope you enjoy being part of this online community. It's very much about us trying to help each other learn and improve our photographic knowledge, skill and ability. There's no such thing as a dumb question and no-one has a monopoly on good advice. So, please do pitch in with questions, pictures for comment, ideas and thoughts, etc, etc.
Hi Guys..I am Dev..I just got my first DSLR..a Nikon D3200..And i want to learn the finer intricacies of Photography.
Dev - I hope you quickly feel that you have arrived at the right online forum to help your photographic learning. CiC is about learnign and there are many poeple on here who will be happy to offer advice, guidance and assistance.
So that you don't continue to get people asking you what your proper name is, because most us use that on here, you can go to Edit Profile and enter your proper name under 'Real Name'. Then it will appear underneath your Username in all your posts. You can also enter your location so that it does the same, just as in my details alongside this message. Then we all know where everyone is in the world.
Hi! I am very much interested in knowing as much as I can about the nuances involved with Digital Photography. I own the Canon EOS 1000d with an EFS 55-250 (Macro). I found the tutorials to be extremely simple yet helpful. Thank you!
I am also interested in learning how to develop photographs from films - the old way! Looking forward to meeting people with similar interests.
Cheers to a learning experience, all of you!
Hi to all at CIC, I'm new to photography and look forward to learning and gaining much pleasure during my rapidly approaching retirement. I currently use the Canon 500D, with a Tamron 18-270mm f3.5-6.3, and a Canon nifty fifty. I am drawn to landscape and street doc phot. Much to learn....
Regards
Henry
Hello. I'm a new photographer with an interest in bird watching. Currently getting my head around a CSC after more than half a century of point and shoot snapping.
I already have a newbie question.
Can anyone tell me if it's possible to post photos direct from a Nexus7?
Welcome Henry, and thank you for deciding to join CiC. I hope you enjoy it.
There are always people on here very willing to share knowledge and expoerience to help you reach whatever level you wish in terms of your photographic skills. All you have to do is ask the questions ......... as well, of course, as hopefully finding what others ask and write to be useful.
Hello and welcome. I hope you enjoy being part of CiC.
First thing - So that you don't continue to get people asking you what your proper name is, because most us use that on here, you can go to Edit Profile and enter your proper name under 'Real Name'. Then it will appear underneath your Username in all your posts. You can also enter your location so that it does the same, just as in my details alongside this message. Then we all know where everyone is in the world.
As to your question - Are you meaning that you would want to post images made with that tool, or that you want to to post images made with another camera that you have stored on the Nexus? Might be best to post up the question in, say, the General Photography Discussion section of the forum. More people are likely to see it there.
Hi Everyone, I have just registered again. Was already registered in 2009 but haven't been to this site since about 2010 and "the system" didn't remember me any more after all those years so I signed up again after bumping into this place today.
I live in Cambridge, UK and love photography in general especially aviation photography, landscapes and nature photogpraphy in general. You can check out some of my photos on my website http://milan.smugmug.com
I'm looking forward to be part of this site

Hello CIC!
I'm Andrew, a photog living in the Twin Cities area, Minnesota, USA. I've been enthralled with photography since my first 110 and polaroid camera as a child. I've since moved onto slrs, medium formats, and a few experimental devices here and there. I shoot a good deal of commercial product photography, and am often drawn to cityscapes for my personal work!
Hello and welcome to the CiC Forum. Congratulations or your new camera and lens and I hope you enjoy using them.
People on here are always very happy to give advice and assistance to help colleagues learn and develop new knowledge and skills. I hope we will see some of your pictures and that you find the site helpful.
Hi all,
My name is Adam! I am relatively new to photography! It is something I have always wanted to get stuck in and know I have finished my studies I have taken the plunge. I have a Nikon D3100 with an 18-55mm lens. I have also recently been a bit naughty and purchased a tripod, a macro + wide angle lens, and a variety of uv filters. I also have a 2x telephoto lens on the way. I had a good old read up before I made any purchases but I am still a little perplexed by the sheer amount there is to learn! still, I cannot wait to get my teeth in to it all! Any advice or pointers anybody has would be greatly appreciated. I love taking pictures of wildlife and scenery!
Thanks all and I'm very glad I stumbled across your great website!!! :-)
Greetings fellow photography enthusiast,
My name is James & I live in Raleigh, NC, USA. Photography has been a passion of mine off & on for 40+ years. I first started shooting in 1970 with a second hand 120 Zenobia & an old Argus 35 split rangefinder. By mid 70s I began sooting with a Pentax K-1000 which became my favorite tool of choice till I entered the digital era in 2005. I'm currently shooting with a Konica/Minolta Dimage A2 & I am interested in moving on to something new. I mostly shoot landscapes, sunrises & sunsets, custom autos, & special events. Through the years I have done various kinds of photography including commercial product photography. To have done as much photography as I have done off & on through the years I am still pretty ignorant, especially regarding this digital stuff. Hope you guys can help guide me to a better understanding of it all.
Thanks James
