Hello to everyone! I'm Enrique from Puerto Rico and I have been visiting this site for some time now. Definitely a great site with tons of learning tutorials! I currently have a Canon 60D with 2 lenses,(Canon 17-85mm f4 IS EF-S and a Canon 50mm F1.8 II EF). Hoping to get some quality lens in the not distant future. ;) Well nice to meet ya all, Later!!

I think you probably are, David. I'm a Canon user and don't know the D7000. What you want to do is get into a store and ask to handle one. See if it feels good in your hands.

Enrique - I am very glad that what you have seen and read on CiC has made you want to join the forum. It's great to have you here and I hope that it becomes even more useful now that you can join in discussions, ask questions and, I hope, post up some of your pictures.

Donald I was watching some of your work and to put it in a single word: marvelous! I too love B&W photography! To capture and to illustrate the beauty, the passion, the story and all the colors of black and white; to me its simply marvelous! Have a good one.

You have not made any posts other than your first one in which you introduced yourself. If you wish to post up images for comment and criticism, then you need to post them into messages that you create in either the 'Nature & Architecture' or 'People & Pets' sections of the forum.

If you have created an album and expect people to comment on teh images in it, then this is unlikely. Albums are really opportunities to showcase your work, rather than places in which to seek comment & criticism.

hi ..i am Iqbal Sohel from Bangladesh... after a long break i start photography with my new Nikon DSLR which is quit different then my old SLRs ...i had to learn a lot and still learning about digital part ... love to go with it ...what i feel with digital photography that one has to know few post processing to get a real great pro look photograph...then i think i should learn a bit Photoshop ...thats my mission hope i will get help from you guys ...of course sharing my photos..exchanging ideas ..knowledge with others and thus improve my quality of photography is always a great thing to me ..

My name is Jim, and I got serious about photography as I neared retirement about 3 - 4 years ago. I've been retired for 2 years+, and photography has now almost become a passion with me. I use a Nikon D90 and D7100 and have an interest in all nature photography, with a special interest in birds. I use a Sigma 150-500 mm lens for bird photography, but also use Tokina 11-16 and 100 mm lenses, as well as Nikon 35mm and 18-200mm lenses. I am still very much in the learning phase of this hobby, and hope to expand my knowledge here.

My name is Tim and I live in Hong Kong. I am originally from the UK but have been out here for 7 years working in technology for a bank. I have been taking photographs for many years but the hobby really took off for me when I moved to Asia. I travel extensively both for work and pleasure and enjoy recording my impressions and experiences of diffent countries and cultures.

I use a Nikon D800 witha variety of lenses and accessories, but find myself mainly using the 28-300 for "walkaround" photo's and a Sigma 150-500 for wildlife.

Hello Everyone,
Just joined this site as I hope to improve my photography and I should be able to do it here! I'm retired and have only got to enjoy and have the time to indulge my passion since retiring several years ago now. Learning is enjoyable but a steep curve for me! I have a Nikon D7000, plus a 24-120 mm lens as well as a 12-24mm and having a wonderful time with them both.
I live in Australia so most of the images I post will be from over here.

Hello Igbal, and a warm welcome to CiC. You are quite right, DSLR's are a whole lot different from the old film cameras, but it's still the guy, or gal, behind the camera who makes the difference. Post Processing has become half of the hobby for many of us, and you've come to the right place to get advice on which way to go and help along the way. Personally, I am a big Lightroom fan, but there are lots of other opinions :). I look forward to hearing more from you and seeing some of your images - I don't think we have many members from Bangladesh.

It would be good if you could update your profile to show your name and where you are - that way they will appear alongside all of your posts.

Hello Beverley and a very warm welcome to CiC. Yes, this is certainly a place to learn and share - though you have to do your bit too :). Everyone here is always supportive and constructive, so if you do want C&C (Comment and Critique) on any of you images, don't be shy in posting.

It keeps on being a learning curve for all of us, and though it gets less steep it never stops going up! Do you do much post processing (pp)? That is a whole new world in itself, and can make an astonishing difference to an image.
