Glad to hear it, Pete. And welcome to CiC.
I hope that being part of the forum adds to the enjoyment and usefulness of this particular online resource. We do see it as very much a learning resource and encourage the sharing of knowledge, skills and experience, so that we can all learn from each other.

Re: NEW MEMBER? please introduce yourself here
Hello Cambridge members! My name is Marty. I started taking pictures for fun at 12 years old with a Brownie camera. Years later I started using a Pentax Asahi 35mm. Most of pictures were just family & friends. Then the digital age came along and I bought a Nikon Coolpix L100. Now I own a Nikon Coolpix P510. I've always been interested in waterfalls and joined another website to help locate new finds that I found in my area. Five years ago, I decided to go after new waterfalls that no one knew about. Most of my work is on private property with owner's permission (the only way I would do it). I know I'm not in most of the photographer's league in here! That is ok with me! I like the way I take photos.

And that, Marty, is what really counts. If you produce things that you like, the chances are other people are going to like them as well. If you try and produce images just because you think other people might like them, then no-one will be happy.
So, stick with what you're doing and, hopefully, being part of CiC can help you develop your knowledge and skills so that you can get better at doing what you enjoy.

Re: NEW MEMBER? please introduce yourself here
Hello Ahmed. Thank you for joining the Cambridge in Colour forum. It is good to have a young person (16 years) join the forum as most of us are older than that.
I hope you enjoy discussing photography with others on here and that you find it helpful.

What distinguishes me from other professionals in the field are dynamism, innovation and simplicity.
i combined photography and videography together as profession after learning so much here. Though open to learn more; i believe non is an island of knowledge, hence necesitated my membership. Have learnt so much from this site for about four years. No doubt, this site has made Photography FUN for me. Thanks to its administrator(s).
warm regards.

Delighted to have you here and I'm very glad that you feel CiC has been so helpful. I hope it continues to be so.
So that you don't continue to get people asking you what your proper name is, because most us use that on here, you can go to Edit Profile (under 'Forum Actions' on the Menu Bar), or you can just press on 'Settings' on the menu bar right up at the top rigth of the window. Once there you can enter the name by which you wish to be addressed under 'Real Name'. Then it will appear underneath your Username in all your posts. You can also enter your location so that it does the same, just as in my details alongside this message. Then we all know where everyone is in the world.

Hello Nibu and welcome to CiC.
There are no full-time professionals on the forum and vast majority are amateurs, just like you. We all try to help each other learn so that we can improve our knowledge and skills. I hope that you will enjoy being involved.

Hello to all my future friends at Cambridge in Colour. My name is Eric and i am below the novice range in photography but, i love it. I just bought a Nikon D5200 kit and during our trip to yellowstone, a tour guide taught me some valuable tips, including this site. Thank you Doug. I bought a Polarizer filter per his suggestion and man am i having fun with it. Wish i could afford Adobe photoshop to fix my mistakes but, guess i need to improve behind the lens, cheaper. Here are a shot i took. thank you

Hi, My name is Pat. I'm from Dublin Ireland. I've always had an interest in photography. Now I want to take it a bit more seriously and get as much advice as possible. I'm not great around PCs so loading photos could take a while. Pat

Re: NEW MEMBER? please introduce yourself here
While I don't lay claim to being a new member, I've been absent for a time. I'm a rather eclectic hobby photographer due to a short attention span and being left brained. My Photoshop work permeates most of my images.
Am a 70y/o retired CRNA, single parent with six adopted teenagers, we live in Rochester, Michigan.

Hola,
My name is Paul (Pablo). I'm a PuertoRican living in California since the 80's. I owned Canon which was stolen in the 90's. In the new millennium, I purchased a Nikon D50 and it's kit. Not bad for beginners. Now, I'm salivating over the D600 and the 70-200 2.8- don't really need the D800 but WANT the D600. I enjoy photographing anything and everything. I especially enjoy candid shots. I can't wait to practice what I've learned and show off my skills.

Re: NEW MEMBER? please introduce yourself here
Hi,
I'm Ron. Have residences in Chapel Hill, NC, State College, PA, and San Francisco, CA, all for work, none vacation. Well past retirement age but fear the idleness of retirement so continue to work full time. Mostly landscape and street photography. Equipment: For travel I use a Nikon D7100 with a AF-S Zoom-Nikkor ED 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G IF DX VR. For landscape I use a Nikon D800 with a Zeiss Distagon T* 21mm f/2.8 ZF. For slide copying and portraits with shallow depth of field I use the D800 with a AF-S Micro Nikkor 60mm f/2.8 G ED. When the D7100 is elsewhere I use the D800 with a AF-S Nikkor 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR as a substitute.
Greetings for Northern Ontario Canada
Hey there:
My name is Randall aka CanadianJake. I found this site after purchasing a new Canon 7D in May '13. I was looking for tips on how to use this camera's functions. I have enjoyed the tutorials on the CiC web page and now am ready to get a little more involved through the forums.
Still not sure if I will post any pictures for sometime. Looking at some of the amazing photos posted by other forum members that kind of the wind out of my sails since I already thought I was taking nice shots. :o
