Hello my name is Mike. I live in Hamilton, Ontario Canada.
I have been interested in photography for many years but really only started getting a little more serious in the last year.
Currently I have a Canon 7D. I love it. I love to shoot birds and more birds. As well I soot flowers and some landscape as well as the family. I have no ambition to do anything with photography other than to learn more and just have fun. The quest is for the ultimate photo but that is what we all aim for.:)

Hello everyone @CIC , I'm Steve from Malta. I am relatively new to photography with lots to learn. My photographic interests are Airplanes , Cars and Landscapes especially sunrise and sunsets I have a Canon 7d with an 18-135 lens ( hopefully soon with a better lens ). I found my way here trying to find some tutorials and from the few posts I read thought that this is the place where I can talk without feeling down with someone professional.

Something else you might find useful. Sometimes people are not sure about asking for comments and criticism on their images. This thread gives you some helpful advice and guidance about how to get the best feedback from fellow members.

I never recorded most of my memorable bird sightings. So i thought of starting photographing birds along with watching them. So,im here to learn basics which will help my bird photography.

Hello and welcome to CiC.

So that you don't continue to get people asking you what your proper name is, because most us use that on here, you can go to Edit Profile (under 'Forum Actions' on the Menu Bar), or you can just press on 'Settings' on the menu bar right up at the top rigth of the window. Once there you can enter the name by which you wish to be addressed under 'Real Name'. Then it will appear underneath your Username in all your posts. You can also enter your location so that it does the same, just as in my details alongside this message. Then we all know where everyone is in the world.

I hope that people on here can help you acquire the knowledge and skills that will help your bird photography. There are many fine examples of bird photography posted by members on here.

Hello everyone - my name is Bob and I'm from South Africa. I have a Nikon P90 which I've used since 2009 and I've now recently bought a Canon EOS 600D with 18 - 55mm and 75 - 300mm zoom lenses. Enjoy travel, wildlife, gardening, reading, music and of course a bit of photography now and then! Look forward to being part of the community.

Hello everyone,
I've been making films since high school (about six years now), and since switching over to DSLRs about two years ago I've decided I should take some time to shore up my foundation of photography knowledge. I have a question about sensor sizes and depth of field which I'll be posting later.
