Hi everyone, my name is chuck. I have been a fan of photography ever since looking at my first playboy. I was in jr. high, who do's not want to take pictures of, well you know. Then it was national geographic. Travail the world and get paid to take pictures, I'm in. Now I'm coming from the land of point and shoot. I have the Pentax k-30 w/ the kit lens 18-55 and just bought the Pentax 50mm 1.8. I love to just go and walk about town and see what I can find or go down to the river. flowers,bugs, sunsets, buildings, people. I'm very new to the dslr, but learning very fast, always coming up w/new ideas. Thank you for letting me join....

Hi there, my name is Bernard. I have been a photographer since the late seventies. I came across CiC a few years back when I was looking for information on digital photography. I joined the digital age when I bought a D300. I now use a D3, D4 and still use my analogue Hasselblad from time to time. CiC are a great resource with clear and well documented information. In my teaching classes I will often recommend pupils to check CiC for detailed technical information. Your tutorials are excellent and I will keep an eye on this forum in between classes and the occasional commission in these difficult times in photography land.

Hello to everyone, I am currently attempting the Photography Institute online diploma course, we share a facebook page which can be usefull but we are all struggling up the learning curve and I noticed someone mentioned this web site was a good source of extra info to add to what we are studying. Looking forward to learning more here.

Hi ..my name is Colin and quite old but still enjoy my photography. I use a Canon 550D and Canon 28-135 lens. Just got rid of a Sigma 18-200 which I am hoping to replace with a Sigma 18-250. I also have aTamron 90 macro lens but hardly ever used it. Anyone want to buy? My fav subject is Abstract

So that you don't continue to get people asking you what your proper name is, because most us use that on here, you can go to Edit Profile (under 'Forum Actions' on the Menu Bar), or you can just press on 'Settings' on the menu bar right up at the top right of the window. Once there you can enter the name by which you wish to be addressed under 'Real Name'. Then it will appear underneath your Username in all your posts.

I am a retired from my job as a Main frame computer manager, and have enjoyed the hobby of photography for many years.

My name is Isaac and I'm from Ghana in West Africa. I'm quite new to photography and am delighted to have found this resource CiC. I am really looking to learn and improve my photography skills and I trust that my time here will be time very well spent.

I have a Canon T4i which I am yet to master and a couple of lenses. The main one I use is a 24-105 f4L. Though the output is much better than the kit lens I've had mixed results and believe it's due to me not knowing enough to make the most of it. So I am really looking to learn quickly.

This is an excellent place to learn, with some very good photographers who are ready to share, and tutorials rated as some of the best on the net.

The kit you have can certainly produce some excellent results. Don't be afraid to post some images and ask for feedback - this is a very constructive and kind place.

I don't think we have many members from your part of West Africa and I look forward to hearing more from you.
