Hello Everyone, My name is Dick and I discovered CIC when researching the relationship between focal length and depth of field. Your forum appears to be very informative and I look forward to sharing knowledge and photos with you. I shoot a Pentax K30 with 15mm, 35, 70mm Pentax Limited primes, two Pentax telephoto zooms, and a Sigma 50mm f/1.4. The Pentax 15mm Limited haunts my dreams and informs my photographic perspectives on most subjects and for that I often apologize when distorted portraits emerge from cropping! Hence the 70mm and 50mm lenses I recently acquired may save my hide. I live in Minnesota, USA, and shoot most of my photos above the 47th parallel of latitude.

Hi, my name is Herman J. Muller. I Have been taking photographs since I was 16 years. That's is altogether Over 64 years. that is a long time and have seen a lot of changes in those years. The most remarkable was the introduction of digital photography and the ramifications that came along with it. No one could believe that due to the didgital phenomena, Kodak would bite the dust until it happened. I used to due the wet process but gave-it-up because too many chemical spils got the best of my spouse. Today, I process digital from shooting to printing and I am very pleased with the possibilities digital provides me with as well as the quality. I like to refer to my photographic abilities as an advanced amatuer and have a long-standing website (www.hermansgallery@msn.com). The site is divided in twelve categories with a number of articles, hints and more. Please visit the site for to form opinion. I welcome email for ideas, questions and the like. My current equipment is Canon/lenses and use Epson Photo Stylus equipment

hi, iam rajeev ram from kerala, india. i recently stumbled on this site while looking for inputs in improving my photography. iam a doctor by profession. i own a canon 1100 d , 55-250 and 18 -55 lenses. my other hobby is driving. i had started taking photographs in my teens and owned a yashica. hope to learn lots about photography from here.

Hi! I'm a new member joined today after by Xmas purchase of a Nikon D3200. I have owned SLRs in the past but not digital. I have been using a Lumix Tz8 for holiday snapping bit I thought I'd return to my old hobby with a DSLR.

I've worked out how to reply but how do I open a new message to ask a question, please?

Hello Everyone
I am now retired having spent forty years working, with my husband on a country estate, in North Yorkshire, England.
I love all nature, plants and flowers, animals, lichens, funghi, mosses etc, etc.
I have a Nikon 3200 bought for me by my husband for my recent "special" birthday.
I am keen to improve my photography and learn to get away from the Auto button.
Any constructive comments will be very gratefully received.

Hi All,

A brief bit about me - I recently bought my first ever DSLR - Canon 600D with 18-55 IS II, 55-250 IS II and 50 f1.8 prime. I am very new at photography in general. I recently photographed an interior design project after reading and watching online tutorials. I do read a lot about photography but I have very limited practical experience. Cambridge in Colour has been an awesome resource!
I also enjoy creating time lapse videos/images. Installed Magic Lantern yesterday on my camera and it seems to help a lot.

Do let me know if I should add any more info.

I shoot a Canon Rebel T3 and am really interested in macro photography and have discovered how tough it can be. I really hope that I can post some of my work on here and receive honest feedback and tips. Constructive criticism is necessary for success in anything, and it will be met with nothing but appreciation and thanks!

Passion is, I suggest Adam, the absolutely necessary prerequisite. You can work on everything else, but you need to want to do it in order to be able to learn.

And learning is where, hopefully, CiC comes in. This is very much a resource for sharing. People will always be willing to offer advice, guidance and assistance.

By the way, where are you? If you wish you can go to Edit Profile and put in your location, so that it appears in the sidebar alongside your message, just like mine beside this message. Then everybody knows where everybody else is.

Hi, I've just joined. I'm Toby from Stockport, UK. I've been reading your tutorials for some time and have found them really enlightening, so thank you for that!

I've been a keen photographer for 30 years, and ramping up in the last few years. Main tools are Canon 700D and Lumix LX5.
