First thing you could so, so that you don't continue to get people asking you what your proper name is, because most us use that on here. You can go to Edit Profile (under 'Forum Actions' on the Menu Bar), or you can just press on 'Settings' on the menu bar right up at the top right of the window. Once there you can enter the name by which you wish to be addressed under 'Real Name'. Then it will appear underneath your Username in all your posts. You can also enter your location so that it does the same, just as in my details alongside this message. Then we all know where everyone is in the world.

I hope you've already seen that this is very much a resource in which to share knowledge, experience and learning. It's all about helping each other improve our photographic skills. So, I hope all that experience will be put to use on here in order to help others learn.

Very impressive portfolio on your Flickr pages. Lots of images to be picked out there. Immediately, I homed in on 'Derwent Valley Reservoir'. I think that's a beautiful panoramic landscape.

My name is Amit and I am beginner in photography.. I just got my new camera with me NIKON P520 and frankly speaking I am quite in love with it.. There is some cons over this camera but to me it's working great.

As a beginner I want to learn most out of it from here.

Hello everyone, my name is Bob. I am not new to photography. I have enjoyed this hobby for nearly 30 years. I recently entered into the world of DSLRs. The difference I found in DSLRs is that we are pushing buttons and entering into menus instead of the old-school of twisting and turning. It didn't take me long to become pretty efficient with the DSLRs. I joined CIC because I love to view photos and understand the photographer's point of view/concept in the photo. I also enjoy looking at the creativity of many photographers, some of which I attempt, for learning purposes. I will post some of my photos soon. In the mean time, I am in the process of establishing my own studio. Hello again, and I am excited about joining a community where so many people share our same interest, photos!!!!

I've been interested in photography since I was very young - I got my first camera at 11 years of age and I've had quite a few since then. I never really developed my photography over the years but, more recently, the interest has been re-ignited. My primary interest areas are portrait, landscape and architecture but, with the possibility of an increasing amount of free time, not unrelated to age, I want to devote soem of that time to improving.

I never wanted a crop-sensor, so I've waited until I can go full-frame. I still don't have a lens. Waiting for the next check. I could ignore a lot of things for a day of taking pictures. I'm new to digital photography, so I'll be reading a lot. I want a fantastic portfolio, even though I'm just an enthusiast. I enjoy hiking, so naturally I will take my 6D with me. Looking forward to taking shots in the woods and moutains around here. Looking forward to the dialogue in the forum.

One thing we would ask - A lot of people on here do not have English as their first language. For that reason it helps if people use proper sentence structure (Capitals, full stops, etc).
