We are very pleased you decided to join us.

Why not take a few minutes to briefly introduce yourself as a new member, but please do not post images for comment in this thread - it's just for introductions. You are welcome to post one image to demonstrate your photography style.

It can be confusing joining a new forum. The following information may help you in getting established here. We know you want to get started, but reading this will help you get started properly.

POSTING IMAGES - For technical advice on posting photos, please read this excellent guide How can I post images here? please also see; How to Get Effective Feedback for your Posted Images

VIEWING IMAGES - If you are looking for help on viewing images on this site then try here.

YOUR WEBSITE - If you have your own photo website or Flickr page you may put a link to it in your forum signature (see mine below for example). You can also introduce other members to your site in This thread.

LOCATION - Put yourself on our members map on Google. But please check the security aspects when you do this CiC Google map

CONDUCT - The general emphasis here is on support and learning. To do that, we often give detailed criticism on shots, where people have asked for it. We always try to do that in a fair, polite, and balanced manner. We also have a lot of fun on here, making humorous comments with one another. But again, it's nearly always done in a friendly manner, softened with the use of smilies.

If you follow the above guidelines you won't go far wrong. We rarely have a problem with things that are said on-line. However, the Admin/Mod group monitor all activity on this site, and any inappropriate comment will be removed or edited. We urge all new members to read the Code of Conduct FAQ.

NAMES - It's more friendly if you put your first name in your profile so that it appears on your posts. Select 'forum action/edit profile' from the menu at the top of the page. 'Real name' is at the bottom of the page. We suggest that for security reasons you only use your first name.

TUTORIALS - Try our famous tutorials, especially if you have a specific or general technical question. See the menu at the top of the page.

POSTING - Just start a new thread to ask a new question/start a discussion/post your images, but please give some thought to starting it in the correct section. Or just reply to existing threads to join in with a discussion that is in progress. If you are doubtful about posting your work, then please read this How to Get Effective Feedback for your Posted Images The FAQ (on menu above) will give you general assistance if you have difficulty FAQ forum usage

Still stuck? Don't worry, just send a PM (Personal Message) to one of the Admin/Mods. You can find them here Mods To get to this list normally, select 'quick links/view forum Moderators'. As you move your mouse over a name a 'PM' button will appear. Click it for the Mod you want and send your PM.

I found CiC while researching the Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8. I'm a Nikonian member, shooting a D7100 and enjoy that resource for a lot of information. These forums also seem to be quite a nice place to share and learn. I look forward to it!

This is a friendly place, and it would also be good if you could edit your profile to let everyone know whereabouts you are in world, and how you’d like to be known (in CiC terms your “real name”). To do that, you click Settings (right at top), then Edit Profile (on left) and put your first name in the Real Name field and where you are (roughly) in the Location field. That way, your details will appear alongside all of your posts

Hi,
I'm Tina and enjoy photography as a hobby.
I enjoy using a Nikon D3200, a Lumix FZ100 and an Olympus compact zs-10.
I am down to two ferrets after fostering and owning 32 of them over the last 11 years, and have recently adopted a Little ShihTzu X from a small dog rescue.
I was searching for tutorials on how to get the best out of my Kenko auto extension tubes which arrived today when I came upon this site, and am looking forward to learning about other peoples experiences with them.
It looks a very informative place to be and I think I am going to enjoy it here.

I tried shooting macro/night/landscape and portrait(mostly only my kid's.. ) I just love taking photos and want to improve my photography and learn about post processing... Daryl Daniels here in San Francisco. Maybe it was 1960, when I was 8 years old, when I started snapping pictures with a Brownie, trying to emulate my sister with her 35 mm SLR. Over the years I've had many cameras, mostly of the point-and-shot variety. In the mid-1970s when I was with the navy in Japan, I got my own 35 mm SLR. I knew a little about photography, much less than I believed. At times I tried to take "real" photographs, but usually ended up with snapshots of exotic places. Very recently some friends have passed on to me their old cameras, so I have a Canon EOS 20D, an Olympus EPL1, a Canon point-and-shoot, and a video cam sitting on the shelf for when I need it. I went through several hours of instruction on composition, aspects of photography, and photo processing. My passion is shooting flowers and plants, and now, especially in macro. I look forward to the feedback I can get from other photographers. I think my pictures are great, but I am biased, and some assert I'm somewhat nuts.

My Name is Phil Clark and I live in Bardsley, which is a leafy suburb of Oldham, Lancs. I am new to DSLR photography and learning every day. I have a Nikon D90 with a 18-55 lens plus a Sigma 18-200, I have also just purchased a Nikkor 70-300, but not yet had chance to use it. I last had a 'real' Camera back in the late 70's when film was around, God how did we manage taking the film to Boots Chemist and not really sure what was coming back ah ah. Actually I took some great shots with a massive long lens with no anti vibration in them days. Well that's me I'm an old timer and wanting to learn, I have found my best shots have been done in Manual mode, must still have it hey ?? I'm a bike fan and my most useage will be at the Isle of Man TT and the MGP, pleased to be here, any similar members would be great. Phil

Hello Everyone! My name is Lisa And I am from fostoria, Ohio. I have loved photography since back in the 80's when I was in 4-H and decided to do a photography project....come quite a long way since my Kodak 110 lol My specialty? I don't know that I have one, but am always eager to learn new things about how to manipulate the camera to achieve the desired effect Between my hubby and I we have 11...yes, 11 kids..ages from 31-14 year old twins (whew boy) but always have plenty of people to work on portraits with Hope to learn much from the tutorials here as well as everyone on here!
