Hi all,
My name is Phil and I live in Kent.
I developed an interest in photography about two years ago when I bought my first camera, a Fuji S100FS which I love to bits.
My main interest is in wildlife photography so in August this year I thought I'd step up to a proper camera and a lens to suit and bought a Sony a350.
I have found this site very helpful with the big learning curve I am going through.
You all seem very knowledgeable and helpful, so, if you don't mind, I thought I would join and hopefully get advice on the various things I don't fully understand and help to improve my pictures.
Hi macrozan,
Hi from Windsor, England,
Glad to have you aboard.

Hi Phil,
Welcome to the CiC forums from me to.
I don't live in Kent
And since I've never met anyone called Berkshire, I think I'm fairly safe
Although, come to think of it; my daughter lives in Kent too
I look forward to seeing some shots from you and if you have any questions you've not found answers to, or need any help climbing the learning curve, just post a question.
Best regards,
Hello Everyone!
I just joined today. Recently bought my first DSLR and am slowly learning. Hope to learn heaps more on this site.
I'm from New Zealand.

Hi all,
Thanks for the welcome! And no worries about the title... I'll answer to just about anything. I was "Howard" for a while with my old boss.
Unfortunately there was an event in the location we chose to do the shoot and we were barricaded out... so we had to set a new date. And thanks for the advice on the client/studio posting etiquette. This client is actually a friend of a friend referral, not through the company, so no troubles.
EDIT; question snipped to a new thread
Thanks,
Mike

Hi from a dark, very wet and very windy UK
Glad to have you aboard and no doubt you'll get a welcome from someone closer to you than I am shortly.
Also glad you like what you have seen so far, but do join in and you'll get soooo much more out.
What sort of subjects make your right index finger twitch?
Look forward to seeing/hearing something from you soon.

hi i,ve just become a member and would like to know about light meters
Hi Eddie,
Could I suggest you ask the question in the General Photography Discussion forum.
Just click the Post New Thread button and off you go.
I'm no expert, but I gather it is a big topic.
I am assuming you mean the handheld variety rather than the one built into your camera.
It would be worth mentioning what you want to use it for; i.e. ambient only or flash as well?
Anyway, welcome to the CiC forums, great to have you join us.
Perhaps in this thread you could tell us a little more about what you like to shoot and what you shoot with?
Best regards,

Hi everyone
I am Cherie! Im a mum of 4 boys who lives in Melbourne Australia.
I had a friend stay with us about 2 months ago and she let me play with her Canon 450D for about 1 hour. It was love at 1st click!
About 3 weeks ago I purchased a Sony 330a. I am enjoying taking photographs of my children so much that I wondered if I could do this on a semi professional level. I have just purchases my 1st prime lense and a set of 4 reflectors. I have also enrolled into a 6 month photography course.
I hope to get to know you all!

Hi,
I am a retired electronics tech (radio stations), have just obtained a BSc. and am looking to purchase a Pentax K-x as an entry level m/c. I have had a pentax spotmatic since the funny farm, (SVN, 1969) and have had it into service only twice (once for cleaning) hence I am biased BUT reading some Pentax websites has not given me confidence in their lenses re. build quality.
What do people generally think of Pentax?
I really am a newbie at this, the spotmatic made me lazy.
Hi Carloslorenzo,
Welcome to the CiC forums, great to have another member.
I hope we see more from you here; certainly your blog has some interesting, thought provoking and inspiring images - in particular the bi-colour flower fantasy. Oh, and I agree with you about rowing too
My apologies for taking so long to get back to this thread and welcome you.
Best regards,
