Welcome to the CiC forums from me, it's great to have you join us.
What sort of things do you like to shoot, and what with?

Re: Introduce Yourself & Welcome Other Members (2)
Hi Dave,
Thanks for the welcome.
I use a Canon 30D and a selection of lenses although I tend to favour my 70-200 2.8L IS for most of my sports photography.
I hope to follow the forums and will get my photos on flickr (or equivalent) and post some in the near future.
I have been doing the sports for a few years now and very much still learning. I am keen that this sort of forum may help me improve.
Would love to do more portrait photos and again hoping the forum will help me get started in the right direction.
Re: Introduce Yourself & Welcome Other Members (2)
Hi Dave and Carregwen,
Thanks for the welcome! I am doing a postgrad degree in Engineering. Well, I usually use CS4 when I have the time and LR if I am lazy. If I am playing with HDR, I tend to use CS4 to merge the pictures followed by Photomatix for the tone mapping.
Currently abit busy at the moment with my exams so I might not be able to post pictures in the forums nor flickr but I hope to do so soon. Sadly, the last few days of great sunny weather has been spent hiding behind my books!
@ Carregwen: I will probably pay a visit to Queen's Head this weekend to sample the "fast-flowing liquid" with my mates after the exams ;)
Cheers,
Victor

Hi Celestine,
Welcome to the CiC forums from me, it's great to have you join us.
If you need some advice on choices or a shortlist, just post a question in either the Digital SLR Cameras or Comapct Digital Cameras forums as appropriate. Do be sure to include as much details possible of what you'd like to photograph, perhaps with an example shot or two that you'd like to imitate, or improve upon.
Best regards,

Hello All,
Names Shelly... Stumbled upon CIC in search DSLR reviews. Funny enough I've been a photography lover for quite sometime. I've decided to take it to another step. I'd like to invest in a great DSLR as I'd like to start a photography studio. I've done some work/jobs ie. engagement photos, weddings, love nature & landscape, and portraits shots..
So I'd LOVE a camera than can apply to these needs. So i;ve joined CIC for some assistance.
Using a Canon Rebel Ti ( i think its a friends,,, I WANT MY OWN...HELP :)
We here cause most of us have an "eye"....
Thank you in advance...
Shelly

Hi Shelly,
Welcome to the CiC forums from me, it's great to have you join us - and with firm aspirations of where to go next :)
While writing this, I can see you've already asked the camera question in exactly the correct forum, so you're off to a flying start, well done.
See you in the other forum (later today, as I need to go to work now),

Hi There,
Just joined CIC. Web site looks really good with lots of info.
I am a keen amateur photographer living in Norfolk.
I use a Nikon D90, and for psot processing use Aperture and Elements 6.
Looking to get a new prime lens soon. 35mm/50mm???not sure yet.
And helpful comments appreciated.
Re: Introduce Yourself & Welcome Other Members (2)
Francesca
Well you've already solved the issue of how to post images onto this site (as per our exchange in Mono Mini Comp #12).
Just start posting up all your questions and queries, as well as your images for constructive criticism. You'll find that there's a wealth of knowledge and experience on here, with everyone more than willing and happy to offer advice, guidance and assistance. What you don't get here (which is nice) is the 'I'm an expert and I'll tell you what to do' attitude that pervades many other bits of cyberspace.
Re: Introduce Yourself & Welcome Other Members (2)
Hello everyone,
I had a Canon 350D for about 5 years and up until then far too many 35mm cameras. Late last year I upgraded to a Canon 50D and the enthusiasm for photography has started all over gain.
Currently trying to work out how to "slip" a couple of "L" lens into the kit bag of goodies. ;)
Looking forward to picking up tips and tricks from this forum and maybe posting the occasional shot for a bit of "gentle" C&C
David

Hi Francesca,
Great to have you join us and I see you've already successfully posted a picture in a competition so you're off to a good start, by all means do vote in that (but not for your own please ;) ).
Is it just the kit lens you have with the D90?
Anyway, time for me to sign off with; welcome to the CiC forums from ...

Hi David,
Welcome to the CiC forums from me, it's great to have you join us, and like Francesca, already posting pics :)
Only seen one so far, but it doesn't look like we need to be too gentle  (fear not; we only 'do' constructive criticism here :) )
I'll have a look at your pics and reply this evening; when home and on my normal monitor.
Better go do some work I guess, best regards,
Re: Introduce Yourself & Welcome Other Members (2)
Thanks Dave :)
I am so ready....
Re: Introduce Yourself & Welcome Other Members (2)
Hey Guys,
Just an ole retired photographer and for the first time in my life I am now an Amateur Photographer. Wow! what an eye opener. Liberating comes to mind.
Purchased a Panasonic DMC L1 'cause I couldn't give up control and of course, PhotoShop is my primary light room. The transition to digital is such a pleasurable endeavor, I'm enjoying every minute. It's fun trying to translate 50 plus years of professional "wet" photography to modern day digital. I'm having a ball.
As a new member, I am looking forward to the continuing learning process any and all help will be greatly appreciated. If there is anything that I might be able to contribute, I'll try my best.
