Luis - I would say that you have therefore found the right online resource. CiC exists to help people learn and to develop their knowledge and skill.
When you are ready to do , please ask whatever questions you may have. Peopel on here will always attempt to help you find answers.
Brendan - A warm welcome to you. There are lots of people on here who will be happy to try and ease your frustrations - photographically speaking - and who will be happy to try and help you along the learning curve of making high quality images.
I hope you enjoy being part of the forum for a long time to come.
Hello.... I'm in Kingston, Ontario, but I'm moving to the UK in the next few months. I've been here for five years and (probably because I'm an enthusiastic amateur who eats, sleeps and breathes photography), I became the President of the local Photo Club a couple of years back. I tend to be the one with the answers on the technical side but I've also done quite well in competitions. I've always been highly impressed by the knowledge shared on this website and have been recommending it to our members for a few years..... so I feel I can ask a few questions of my own now!
Greetings from NYC
My name is Terry Brown and I am an amateur photographer as well as a senior technologist in the Motion Picture and Television industries. I specialize in color science and digital imaging, facility design and trying to keep my clients out of trouble in todays complex world. I spent 25 years in Hollywood and have worked for both Kodak and Technicolor in my career.
I started photography as a kid, my parents building a dark room in our basement. Did mainly black and white but played with the old Cibachrome color system as well.
Hi! a new member from Rio de Janeiro!!! Regards! Armond
I just registered to be part of this forum. I have been much more actively involved in my amateur photography in the past year and have been enjoying the many of the resources that are available. I read photography books, participate in other online forums, take lots of pictures, and spend time processing RAW images. I also like to share my images on flickr as well as emailing digital copies to friends and printing the real thing at my home. I know little about this site other than it being recommended by a fellow photographer. So, I am happy to learn.
What a very nice person he/she must be. Hello there, and welcome to CiC.
Why not have look around not only the forum, but also the tutorials, which are widely acclaimed as being amongst the best available.
CiC is very much about learning and about people sharing knowledge and experience. I hope you enjoy being part of it.

Hello:
My name is John from St. Paul, Minnesota. I have been doing photography for a long time since I was a college student. A little more than a year ago, I purchased my first good digital camera and I have been trying to learn about digital photography and Photoshop as much as I am able to. I enjoy photography and hoping to turn semi-pro some day. Hoping to learn more from this website. I attached three of my recent photos. Any constructive critics will be much welcomed. Thanks.

Having recently retired I have decided to enrol on photography course at our local further education college. Have been interested fleetingly in photography for years but have decided to try and increase my knowledge and develop my photographic skills further. I also have an interest in Photoshop and have tried a number of projects influenced by Scott Kelby.
And that's the best recipe for future success that I can think of.
Welcome. And I'm very glad that you've chosen CiC for your first involvement with a photography forum. I hope you find that people on here are helpful and courteous and that it's something you want to be part of for a long time to come.

I've loved photography for as long as I can remember. I shoot digital mostly to capture my two sons playing competitive basketball. Film I shot for myself - I enjoy B&W darkroom work, and I took a color darkroom course several years ago. I want to learn more about color correction and color management.
Thank you for joining up to CiC. I hope you enjoy being part of the forum.
