Hi everyone,
I'm Thomas, a press photographer/ journalist from Norway.
I'm a Nikon guy, though my first camera was an Olympus analogue SLR. At the moment I'm enjoying photography as much as I can, and already like this website.
Welcome John! There are indeed a number of members here who stitch and stack photos here exceptionally well and will be more than happy to share the tips and tricks they use. There's also a number of members from Canada who have shared some fantastic landscape and nature photos so I hope you do the same.
G'day Clive and welcome to CiC. Great to hear you've gotten into digital photography. I've certainly have never looked back after buying my digital SLR. Think of your weather as an opportunity to create different photos Your imagination is your only limit so I look forward to seeing some of your photos.
Hi Acep and welcome to CiC. You have some very good photos on your blog if there's one thing i've learnt about photography it's that you never stop learning and I'm sure you'll be able to learn more being part of the CiC community. Make sure you post some of your photos up in the forums to get some feedback - I look forward to seeing them!
It's great to hear that you're enjoying your time here Thomas. No doubt you have a lot of valuable experience to share with the members here, and hopefully you'll find some of the posts and commentary insightful as well.
It's also always nice to have more Nikon shooters here as I'm sure we're outnumbered by the Canon guys - not that we pay any attention to that sort of thing here
Hi
My name is Brendan form Dublin, Ireland. I have enjoyed photography for the past few years with my point & shoot and have recently acquired a DSLR. Looking forward to getting useful advice through your excellent tutorials and forums.

Brendan
Hello Brendan and a very warm welcome to you. Thanks for signing up to CiC. What DSLR and lens did you get?
Hopefully you've seen enough of the site (forum and tutorials) to see that CiC is very much about learning and about people being very willing to help other people learn. So, if you have any questions, want to make a point in a discussion, check out some detail, post up an image for comment and criticism, or just generally sound off to the world (at least this little bit of it), please do post it up in a message.
I hope you enjoy being part of this community.
Hello everyone, I'm Katja from Russia. Some time ago photography became my passion and now I'm trying study it and improve the quality of my pictures. I have already read few tutorials on this site and was really impressed by clear and precise description of many topics! Thank you! So, I have decided to register here and ask your help and support.
Welcome Katja
I am very pleased to hear that you have found the site to be helpful.
One of the most useful ways of learning is to ask questions. On a forum such as this people sometimes feel nervous about asking a question, because they think that others may think that they should already know the answer. That is not the case here on CiC. The philosophy is that if you have a question then many others probably have the same question, but are just nervous about asking it. So, you will help others as well as yourself.
And, of course, posting up images and asking others to comment upon it is also a helpful way to learn.
So, I look forward to your contributions on the forum and i hope you enjoy being involved.
I'm a newbie on here.
My name's Gerry, and I've a Quiff, and to save keystrokes, I go by the name gerryquiff.

Hi all,
My name is Joe and I live in Washington, D.C. I was a journalist for nearly 20 years and had the good fortune to know and work with many talented photographers. I've dabbled with digital photography for the last seven years and feel I have an understanding of good composition but am really a novice on the technical skills that will allow me to get to the next level. I shoot with a Nikon D7000 and admit that it's probably more camera than I really need (but I'm hoping to change that). I came across this site on a Google search and was very impressed. I'm not great at keeping up with forums, but let's give it a shot!
Hi every one, my name is Dave and I live in Aldershot in Hampshire, This is a great site with lots of information and great photography so I am looking forward to viewing members work and learning more about photography and joining in the fun. I have been a photographer for many years but I am still learning & developing new skills. You never stop learning and thats what make life so interesting.
Right Joe, this is the chance to change all that!
Thank you for signing up to CiC. I hope you enjoy it. We try and live up to the header that this is a learning community. So, the idea of people sharing their knowledge and experience in order to help others learn is very much what we encourage.
We're a fairly informal and harmless bunch and one thing that keeps me here is that we don't have people who just want to talk about how much new, expensive gear they have. The ability to make good images and enjoy the artistic aspects of photography is what motivates the vast majority of people on here.
So, please do join in the fun.
