Greetings everyone!
Just call me Well.
I've been looking for a "friendly" photo forum and this appears to be one.

I live in Sabah aka Land Below The Wind, Malaysia. I've been shooting with a P & S digital camera for quite number of years and only recently upgraded to my first DSLR i.e Nikon D7000 plus 18-105 Nikkor Lens & and a 50mm 1.8 Nikkor Lens for a start.

I would love to just follow a fellow members around for a while so I can learn how to use my camera right.

I would really appreciate comments, suggestions and, dare I say, criticism! I'm sure I'm going to enjoy the company here. The site looks great, and I've already found the tutorials very helpful.

My name is Nick but I often go by Nickle. I'm from St. Cloud, Minnesota. My cousin sparked my interest in photography a few years ago and ever since I've tried to learn as much as I can about photography. I've greatly enjoyed developing my personal style over the past years, although it's something which is endlessly being shaped. I've always desired to have a deeper meaning to my photos rather than just having them be beautiful pictures. I hope that people may take meaning and something personal from them that would serve to unveil something to them. Becuase there are a lot of people whose first language is not English, we ask people who can to write in proper English, not using text-speak and using capitals and punctuation as well as they can. I totally agree with you in terms of you attitudes about photography and your belief in what it is. I hope you enjoy being involved here and find like-minded people who are more concerned about image-making than about the latest gear and what it can or cannot do.

You are correct. Your ability to develop a vision and to apply creative ability to making images that express that vision, is not limited by technology. High technology can assist you to achieve your aim, but it is not necessary to have a whole lot of technology in order to be able to do that.
