Hi all. New to the hoby. I'm looking forward to meeting all of you.
Hello all. As I've noticed on one of the introductions, I too have found this site to look quite good and have decided to join in the forums etc. I am an enthusiastic amateur and have returned to photography now that digital and good quality processing software is available. I have a good range of lenses from wide angle through to long telephoto, both manual and automatic for my Olympus E410 and E 520 cameras. I also have a tripod and dedicated flash as well as a good range of other accessories and bits and pieces to give me an all round package to photgraph just about anything. All I need now is plenty of practice, advice and some nonest feedback about the results! I'm looking forward to getting involved in the discussions and hopefully might even be able to help out!
I am not new but I want to start posting again (in case I find the gadget to charge the battery).
My name is Ana Catalina Isaza de Toro. I am from Medellín, Colombia, South America. I just had few cameras in my life.
I had an "instamatic" ( Kodak) an AE1 (Cannon) and now I own a Nikon D 40.
I studied photography for 6 months and now I see how many mistakes I committed with my Cannon camera.
Up to now my main interest or is to photograph people.
Thus, I started with a portrait of my mother who is 80.
Cordially,
Catalina

Hi there. My name is Flavia and I am a brazilian photojournalist. I also teach photography at PUCRS, in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, and I hope to find very valuable information here. Regards.
Hi. my name is Jim and I currently live in Quesnel BC Canada, beautiful Cariboo country. I have travelled alot in my life with the military and had the enjoyment of photgraphing many varied subjects but most scenic and structures. I used a Minotla Maxum 35 mm with lenses from 19mm up to 600mm. As an amature I feel that my eye for a great photo was quite good. I have traded all that heavy film package for a more manageble but quite capable Canon XS40 HS. Been using the camera about a month now and am getting very anxious to get out in the field and start testing my Digital camera to its fullest. I have taken a few photo courses as well as being an optics technician. I feel that learning is just another state of life that we can never quite master and your site has provided me with some inspirational insite into the world of digital photography. Even as an old guy I have a lot to learn. I look foprward meeting the forum members in the future and anticipate some learned help from all.

John - I certainly hope you'll feel able to come in a join discussions, or ask any questions you've got. The one good thing about this forum is that you can be confident in being able to ask any question you have. Nobody will think that should already know the answer. Remember, everyone on here was once at the point that you now are on the learning curve. So, please don't sit there wishing you could ask, but don't want to.
Great to have you here and I hope you enjoy it.
Hi All, I've just joined this site in the hope that some of the many questions I have that don't get answered elsewhere may be sorted here. A newbie who is spending time upgrading my skills in the hope I can turn photography into more than a hobby. Using a Canon 5dmk11 with various Canon L series lenses. Currently stationed in Thailand but I get around the region quite a bit.
All the best.
I certainly hope that that will be the case, as there is always someone around who will endeavour to provide a helpful response. The clearer you can be with what your query is, the easier it is for people to give that helpful answer.
As you've maybe seen, CiC is very much about learning and lots of people on here are very willing to share their knowledge and experience.
