Hi, My name is Jaime and I love to play around with taking photos of my kids, nature, random people, and much more. I am interested in improving my technique, learning to better use my camera, and more. I love the idea of getting my photography and digital art out there but am unsure if my work is good enough. Constructive criticism is welcomed

Hi everyone. Just joined as am being driven spare by my colour profiles after using profile generated by my Eye One Match Pro, I can't see correct colours anywhere, not even online or in Photoshop! Worse still it make images on my website invisible to me, though when checking on my phone I do know they are still there as they should be. Have gone through every menu available in Windows, but just can't get it how it should be! Any ideas? xx

And that, Jaime, is exactly where we all started. It takes a leap of faith to launch your work out into the big, bad world, but once you do so and expose it to the sort of constructive criticism that you will get here on CiC, then you will be amazed at how helpful a learning tool it is to do that.

I know there are some forums where criticism on images can be very harsh, cruel and rude. Some people seem to forget that they were once learning (and very often their own images aren't that good). Fortunately, CiC encourages a very different tone and attitude.

So, I hope you enjoy being involved and are able to learn as a result.

Hi to you all. Realized I hadn't introduce myself yet...My name's Federica, writing from next to Como, Italy. I have been taking pictures as a hobby since a lot of years ago, but I learned a lot of things about photo settings last year, during my bachelor thesis. (Though this doesn't meet I'm good in taking photos.) My friends' gift for my degree was a Canon EOS1100D... And now I'm enjoying a lot the new zoom ('till 200mm). Just one defect among all this: trekking in the mountains is getting heavier with this equipment!

Hi all, yet another newbie here, so what can I tell you?
Been involved and uninvolved in photography for more years than I care to think.
Currently a Canon user with a few of their toys. Shoot mainly sport, action and gig photos. Highland Games, Int Rugby and Athletics plus many local National sporty things.
Using Canon 1DX, 1D3 and 7D for most things.

Hi. New here. After many years I'm trying to get back into photography. I have a Pentax K-1000 and a few lenses. I've upgraded to a Pentax K-30 so that I can continue to use the old lenses.

Here is a picture take with the K-30 body and an Asahi Optical SMC Pentax-M 1:2 50mm lens(~20 years old):

Hi My name is Mike, based in the Western Rockies of Colorado. Cut my photo teeth in the film era/manual focus lenses and have shot professionally for 20 years. With the diminished stock photography market I have been forced out of making a living as I use to so I took a 9-5 job to pay the bills and stay close to my family. If you want to start a new thread, go into any one of the forums and, near the top of the page above all the threads, there is a big button which says "+ Post New Thread" - it's amazingly easy to miss, but easy once you see it.

If you want to post images, try this thread in the Community Lounge:

There are other helpful threads in the Community Lounge forum, too.

Hi all, my name is Romano, I'm Italian, living in Madrid, Spain. I used to like a lot photography when I was a student at the University --- I had a Olympus reflex I was very fond of, and loved to shot B&W photos. After a long hiatus in which my hobby shifted to computer, I am back again... I have a Sony Alpha SLT 55 now, with a handful of lenses, and a little Panasonic LX-5 to complement it.
