What a very good teacher he/she must be!
Great to have you here. So that you don't continue to get people asking you what your proper name is, because most us use that on here, you can go to Edit Profile and enter your proper name under 'Real Name'. Then it will appear underneath your Username in all your posts. You can also enter your location so that it does the same, just as in my details alongside this message. Then we all know where everyone is in the world.
I hope you'll come to feel that it was a good recommendation that you got and that CiC becomes a regular part of your learning package.
Well done Rodger. You've got it. Just one thing - This one you posted is 504px x 335 px. You'll finmd that you'll get mroe reaction from people if you post them at a larger size. You can for example post a landscape format like this at anything up to 1200 or even 1500 pixels on the long edge. I tend to post at 1024 pixels. They will be downsized automatically to go into the message. But, if you click on the copy in the message, it opens up in the forum Lightbox at full size. This can very often make a huge difference to the viewing experience.
Anywat, great to have you here and thank you for joining CiC. I hope you very much enjoy being part of the forum.
Thankyou. Do I always have to go to my profile to post a thread. Everything else I try comes up with 'no results' including the photos. Finding this quite complicated.
heloo everyone.i'm in ,from athens and a newbie in fotography....

Hi everyone,
My name's Rav.I am a newbie here.I live in Melbourne Australia and am keen to learn about photography.I use a Canon 7D and I am interested in macro and landscape photography.Hope to get a few tips and learn more on using my camera.
I hope you will, Gil. That's very much what CiC is all about - asking questions so that we can all learn. If you don't ask, you don't find out. So, I hope you enjoy being part of teh forum as well as finding it helpful.
By the way - If you wish you can go to Edit Profile and put in your location, so that it appears in the sidebar alongside your message, just like mine beside this message. Then everybody knows where everybody else is.
Hello Ravi and welcome to the forum.
CiC is, as it says on the Masthead, a learning resource for everyone interested in photography. As well as the excellent tutorials, the forum exists in order to enable people to share information and ideas, to ask questions and discuss issues. Of course it also enables people to post images so that people can learn by giving and receiving constructive criticism and comment. So, I hoipe you find being involved is to your benefit.
Hello Everybody,
My name is Mich and I'm from Mauritius. I'm a just a beginner looking to learn the Art of Photography.
One of the plus points about this forum, I hope you find Mich, is that the experienced people on here remember that they were once beginners and now try very hard to provide the supportive advice and guidance that helps people like your self to learn so that you can, one day, join those who are able to give advice and assistance.
Thank you for joining CiC and I hope you enjoy being involved.
Hello everyone, my name is frank, and from taylor michigan.Iam new to dslr cameras just purchased a nikon 3100,with a 18-55mml\ lens. Hope to learn from all the experienced members here.
Hi All, my name is jamid i have just started photography. i have purchased Nikon D5100 with lenses 18-55mm & 55- 200mm. Recently i come across this web page referred by my friend and i found it very helpful and interesting to develop new techniques of photography.
Hello Frank and welcome on board CiC.
Congratulations on the new purchase. First thing to do is get to know that camera and the lens inside/out. Practice, practice, practice until using all the controls becomes second nature and you don't have to think about it. At first it will feel like you'll never get to that level of experience, but it will happen if you put in the work.
And there will always be people on here to support and help you.
By the way - If you wish you can go to Edit Profile and put in your location, so that it appears in the sidebar alongside your message, just like mine beside this message. Then everybody knows where everybody else is.
Jamid - I am very glad that your friend recommended the CiC website and that you have found it helpful. I hope you continue to do so now that you are a member of the forum.
By the way - If you wish you can go to Edit Profile and put in your location, so that it appears in the sidebar alongside your message, just like mine beside this message. Then everybody knows where everybody else is.
