My name is Bill. I am a retired high school teacher who has been taking photos for about 50 years and have recently discovered that I have MUCH to learn. I have been going through the tutorials on PP, and hope to participate fully in CiC in the future.

Hi everyone. I am Sandy. I retired from teaching and found the love of travel and photography. Though I have been at it just 3 years , I feel like I still am learning so much. I have a Nikon D7000 that I love. Been traveling to our beautiful national parks and have posted some photos on my web site, www.skgphoto.com. He does deliveries in Yellowstone!! Every day! For someone stuck over here on the other side of the 'pond' (who's only ever been to Yellowstone once), that just rates right up there. Every day! Yellowstone!

Then we all know where everyone is in the world.

Secondly, you state that you want people to exchange personal contact information so that you engage outwith the forum. We woudl strongly discourage members from doing that. This is a forum where the ideas and views set out by people are available to everyone. That is most beneficial both from the point of view of sharing knowledge and in protecting people in an online environment. I would be surprised if you find many members willing to move off-forum to establish 1:1 relationships with you.

Hello all, my name is Mark and I live near Cambridge OH. I have been capturing and printing images (darkroom) for a long time, but have only been into the digital realm for about 8 years. One of my functions in my work life is failure analysis, so I get to shoot technical stuff and macros almost everyday. I use my personal equipment, usually my D800 with 105 Micro lens, so I get constant practice with it - and get paid for it! Obviously, I like shooting macro, but landscape and wildlife is my passion. The digital world seems to continue to evolve at a ridiculous pace, (equipment, post processing, technique, etc.) that I really believe forums such as this are a necessity if you want to have a chance to keep up. I have been visiting this site as a guest for quite a while, and I figure its time I should get more involved with the helping - where I can - rather than just the learning side. This is a great forum - thanks for keeping it up and running.

Hello, my name is Johnny (middlename Reinhold). I am 62 years old, live in Denmark, retired (I was a banker), and now want to learn a lot about taking pictures with my new DSLR - a Canon 600d. I am very experienced ! I have taken more than 35.000 pictures over the last decade - with my digital compact Canon cameras - most on the AUTO programme ! I've got my new DSLR at couple of weeks ago - and I have read 5 books and what I can find on the net about how to use it, so now I should now everything. But of course I do not. I now a little bit about some things - but I am very confused about ALL the things, there is to be known. I hope, I can get som good advise her on CiC, which to me seems to be a VERY good place to learn about my new hobby. Until now I have taken around 1.200 pictures with the DSLR - mostly to learn, what it means, when I choose Av, Tv, P, and the other programs. I'm also trying out my lenses - a 18-55mm from the kit, a 50mm f1,8 and a 55-250mm IS - all from Canon, and not very expensive, but they will do for me at this point. I have also bought a lens hood and a polarizer - and I have som questions about how to use them. So I hope to se you in some of the other forums, and am looking forward to "work" with you all. Uh... Hello all! I am Lu, but you can call me SilverYeou. I just joined this forum, although I have been reading this page for a while now. I am newbie in photography, I only do it as a - much enjoyed - hobby. ^^ I have a Sony Alpha 77 and two lenses, and I like it very much. Hope to share some photos, have a nice time with you once in a while, mainly while I drink some coffee/tea. I like cats...hmm... cakes, macro photos, summer time, landscape photos, books, wine, coffee - of course - and more. My present battle is taking photos of moving water and how to make it looks smooth (note: I have no ND filter ). I have no program to post-edit my pictures, but it does not mean I might not get one in the future.

CiC is a forum for everyone. the fact that don't have post-processing software does prevent you doing many of the things that you will see being discussed on here, but it does not mean that you cannot learn how to make many fine images.
