Hello, Chris.
I'm very glad you like what you've seen so far. I hope that being part of the forum adds to the value.
Something you might find useful. Sometimes people are not sure about asking for comments and criticism on their images. This thread gives you some helpful advice and guidance about how to get the best feedback from fellow members.
Hello to all Cambridge in Color members.. I'm Richard and I use two cameras mainly,; Fuji XE -1, with an assortment of prime and telephoto ensues, along with a Leica D Lux 6 which I use with and without the EVF attached. I think your discussions are in depth and very helpful, I'm moving into some of the more technical aspects and am taking both online and in person course. You all have been very helpful to je and I look forward to becoming a helpful member. Thank you.
Hello to everyone reading this!
Yup, I'm new here and needless to say I'm into photography. I'm a new professional with a Canon 5D Mark II although I don't think the type or brand of camera one has, does not neccessarily have much to do with the quality of photos he or she can produce. I Also have a Pentax K5 (semi professional SLR) with which I took some of my all time favourite pictures.
My true passion is nature photography but I also do family portraits, events, etc. At the moment I'm trying to get better at night photography.
Hello I'm a first year Photography Student my courses are:
Photo 101: 35mm film photography and developing.
Photo 102: Photography appreciation
Photo 126: Digital Photography/ Photoshop C6 , LIGHTROOM 5.
Photoshop 1: Photoshop CC
GRDSN 158: Graphics Design This makes for a full quarter and I'm at the moment researching on this site for my assignments. Thanks, I just took a break to join because I found this to be a great site to be apart of.
Thank you for your kind words and welcome to the forum. I hope that being part of CiC will help you with your studies.
So that you don't continue to get people asking you what your proper name is, because most us use that on here, you can go to Edit Profile (under 'Forum Actions' on the Menu Bar), or you can just press on 'Settings' on the menu bar right up at the top right of the window. Once there you can enter the name by which you wish to be addressed under 'Real Name'. Then it will appear underneath your Username in all your posts. You can also enter your location so that it does the same, just as in my details alongside this message. Then we all know where everyone is in the world.
Hi,
I own and run a tourism business from the outskirts of Ranthambhore tiger reserve in India. I am a self taught photographer and mostly shoot nature and wildlife, in India, Sri Lanka and east Africa mainly. I have been using Nikon equipment for the last 5 years. Before that I had Canon gear for about 7 years. I do a lot of work as a field assistant for wildlife documentary film makers and for a few professional wildlife photographers. I have been going through this site for a long time even though I was not a member.
Regards
Hello. My name is Ralph. I've been taking pictures for many years, but there is still much a lot to learn with new tecknogley arriving every day. My main problem right now is the switch to Mack and getting all my Windows to work using Parallels Software. I use a Nikon D4 - D3x - D3 with lens from 14mm to 800mm. To review some of my work please visit www.rgspeer@hvc.rr.com and feel free to comment
In glancing through some of the galleries I do feel humble. I will be posting shortly.
Ralph
Hello Aditya and welcome. You are a lucky man living near to Ranthambhore (and I suppose just down the road from Bharatpur). There are a number of wildlife photographers in this community (I count myself as a rather low level one!), and I for one am greatly looking forward to your contributions. I hope we will some some of your images, and also your comments on others'.I am a self taught photographer and mostly shoot nature and wildlife, in India, Sri Lanka and east Africa mainly
Regards,
Dave
Hello Ralph, and welcome to CiC. I confess I have no experience of Parallels software (I think it is a Windows emulator?). What photographic software do you use? I tried to look at your site, but the link failed, maybe there is a typo? Anyway, I look forward to reading your posts soon.Hello. My name is Ralph
This is a friendly place, and it would also be good if you could edit your profile to let everyone know whereabouts you are in world, and how you’d like to be known (in CiC terms your “real name”). To do that, you click Settings (right at top), then Edit Profile (on left) and put your first name in the Real Name field and where you are (roughly) in the Location field. That way, your details will appear alongside all of your posts.
Cheers,
Dave
Dave sorry about the site I was just informed all is now ok. The LB people are adding a few more goodies. Hope you give it another try.
Ralph
My name is Bob and I live in Colorado Springs, CO. I have been a casual photographer for years, but it is only in the last year or so that I have pursued it more seriously. I spend a lot of time in the out of doors, especially in Crested Butte, Colorado, where I head out with the professional photographer Xavi Fane and learn from him. I have found photographic opportunities in lots of places, like this one I took recently at a competition in my local climbing gym.
Welcome, Bob and thank you for deciding to join the forum. If you've been looking around CiC, you'll have realised that this is every much a learning forum in which people are encouraged to share knowledge and skills and to ask all those questions that they're nervous about asking in case people think they should know the answer already.
So, I hope you enjoy being involved.
I see that you referred to an image in your post, which does not appear. If you need any help in getting images posted into your message, then please do read the helpful guide that walks you through how to do it. Click HERE to read the thread.

Hi Everyone.
This is Hui from NJ, US. I have had a Canon Rebel XT for many years and always like to take photos during our family vacation. I am specially interested in landscape and architecture due to my architecture training twenty years ago. I do take care the picture's composition and color etc, but most of my picture are point and shoot level. I found Yan Zhang's amazing landscape photography on web. Inspired by Yan Zhang's story, three month ago, I got a Nike D600 and start to learn the photography more seriously. I am still reading the tutorials for beginner, I hope that I can learning and sharing in the CiC community.
Hello Hui and thank you for joining CiC. I hope that by being part of this online community you can continue to learn and improve you photographic knowledge and skills.
By the way - If you wish you can go to Edit Profile and put in your location, so that it appears in the sidebar alongside your message, just like mine beside this message. Then everybody knows where everybody else is.
I just try to load my first image. It took at Niagara Fall in July. I just got my Nike D600 and have not read through the camera manual. I believe the camera was set as auto.
