Steve what in the world are you talking about?

Haven't you ever been on flickr? It is a site to post your images, it is an album like Photobucket. Were do you post your images before posting them here???? The group I am on is a site were we just goof off and over porcess our images, its fun its a joke.

British Government?? "Steve We have all ready tepped your phone line" lol

BTW I have been reading about the British Government and wow it sounds like things are getting pretty crazy there. USA is not that far behind.

Why would anyone be so smug as to believe that we all want to produce images based on their view of the world. I agree with Dave lets see have some examples of how it should be done and we can decide for ourselves. And don't start me on that blog....does he or she write a column for the Telegraph. Why would anybody waste there precious life in supposing that we want to hear rabid rantings dressed up in internet style officialdom. And people ask where all the football hooligans went!

Ok that wound me up for 2 minutes...now back to what a love to do....without black borders

Hi, my name is Annette from good ole Bedfordshire, UK. I am a relative newcomer to photography and following the sad demise after way too few months of my Sony A100, and way too many bad reviews for the 2 and 3 series, I have just got the Sony A550. My main passions are showjumping (been competing many years now, so good to combine with photography too), nature, landscapes, birds of prey. From the techno side I am hopeless, I have PSE2 but still haven't a clue what to do in it, although I did manage to remove a judge from a picture of my sister jumping at Hickstead!!) Have just been on a Mastering DSLR seminar with Chris Weston and was so impressed I went on the Bird of Prey day last week. Have attached my very last pic of the day, totally unplanned but I would love any comments. I have not processed it in any way and unfortunately due to lack of card space it is in JPEG. Other than that the lens was a sigma 70-300. Have really been enjoying many of the threads, even though so many seem way above my head for the moment. Here's to learning!!

Welcome to the group Annette, looking forward to seeing some of your photos. I am new to PSE also, cannot find any good tutorials without having to join a group or the adobe website links seem to crash everytime I try to download. I'll have to check my library tomorrow or a bookstore.

I do like British humour, another forum I belong to had a British member who took a while to get to know that he was only joking.

    Hi Carol,

Welcome to CiC - great to have you with us What sort of photography do you enjoy?

PS: Best way to upload photos is to click on COMMUNITY and create yourself a PUBLIC album - we can then show you how to link to it from there. If you get stuck just let me know and I'll do it for you.

    Hi Carol,

Welcome to the CiC forums from me, great to have you join us.

HELP THREAD: How can I post images here? should help solve your needs, but I would suggest posting them in the most appropriate forum if for critique or thread if for challenge or mini-competition.

I was going to ask what sort of pictures you like to shoot, but maybe I'll be able to see shortly

Sorry for the short intro post, got a few things to do here this morning, catch you later,

    Hi Annette,

    Good intro post

Yes, it can seem a little daunting at first, but we'll be gentle with you, don't be shy at asking any questions in the appropriate forum, choose which depending on the subject question; e.g. 'DSLR' for camera, 'General' for composition, or post processing, etc.

I have a soft spot for Birds of Prey too.
Oh, just saw you had an image problem too, there's a link in Carol's reply you could use

    Hi Gaurav,

Welcome to the CiC forums from me, great to have you join us.

By all means start a new thread in one of the photo critique forums, with some of your pictures in (say 2 - 4 for now), don't be shy.

With your drawing and painting interests, particularly if you have studied or read on that at all, you should have a head start on composition aspects of photography

I look forward to seeing some pictures.

    Best regards,

    Welcome Francisco,

I viewed your photograph of "small boat". Nicely done.

    Hello everyone,

My name is Nicole, I am a Mom of 2 here in the US, Scottsdale Arizona to be exact. I am passionate about photography and I have A LOT to learn. It looks like I am in the right spot! I have a Nikon D40 and a Nikon D300s. It is a hobby for me and a great escape from the kids.

I found this site by searching what 'clipping of highlights' meant. The article I found from this site was Camera Metering and Exposure. It was informative and extremely helpful, I also know what clipping of highlights means now.

I look forward to learning more and meeting all of you.

    Thank you,

    Nicole
