Hello all,
My name is Joyce and I am from Hong Kong. I have taken some photography classes before when I was in secondary school but haven't been shooting for a long time. Recently picked up photography again after I gave birth to my twins (yes, I'm one of those scary mother with a camera )
I found this site while searching for info on understanding digital cameras settings. Am still trying to digest your turtorials. I confess, I am all blur with those technical explanations...
I am shooting with Canon 500D and EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS and also 50mm f/1.4. I just took an online course in using PE8 and need lots of practice. My interest? Of course my twins, need I say more?
Looking forward to learning from everyone.
Joyce

Hello everyone,

Hi Peter,
thanks for your reply. I know the Gisborne market very well, as I lived for a couple of years there. It is really bussy.
I had a look at your galleries and there are a lot of beautiful shots.
I have some photos on Flickr. I would like to hear your opinion about the shots. It is under the name imagicpic.
Nice to hear from you and we should catch up one day. Maybe at the Gisborne market.
Thanks and regards
Rainer
Hi Forum,
Im Richard, a new member and have been reading with interest a lot of the tutorials etc.
I started in Photography when Box Brownies were the latest technology, and was always an amateur.
4 Years ago, I started my own photography business producing 360 Virtual Tours for clients. My website can be seen here: 360 Virtual Tours
Nice to meet you all.
Hi All,
I am a new member to the Cambridge in Colour website. I am enjoying the tutorials but unfortunately I cant practice with them right know as I am deployed with the US Navy to Kuwait and I didnt want to get my camera full of sand. I have had a love of photography since I was a child and after a long "hiatus" from SLRs, I purchased a Canon EOS 50D kit in November '08 and am loving it ever since.
I enjoy shooting landscapes as well as my children's sports. I plan on making some major purchases on more equipment when I return home and begin practicing with portrait shooting.
I have a few photos on flickr at http://www.flickr.com/photos/timbayler/. I will upload more once I can remember my user name and password (it has been a while since I uploaded those).
Thanks for the tutorials and keep them coming.
Hello all,
What an interesting site - I am eager to learn.
Hi everyone,
Well pleased that i have found this forum, I am new to the world of photography !
I have just purchesed a new Canon 550D, now this is my first ever proper camera, I have always been keen on taking this up so i took the plunge and brought the above without really finding out what i am letting myself in for
I used to race motorcycles and as my job now wont allow me too due to too many broken bones, i still want to be apart of it but on a much safer side.
So here i am, will be asking many dum questions no doubt so get ready !!!
Paul
Hi, I have recently joined this group. Came across it quite by accident when I was searching for information on depth of field and hyperfocal distance.
My background is in public health, although I am now studying photography full time. I have a Nikon DSLR and a rangefinder.
Currently living in Auckland and soon to be in Brisbane. Was living in the UK until 3 years ago, and missing it a lot
Hope to have an enjoyable time with you all.
Tony
Hi Tony
Welcome! A career change sounds exciting - wish I had the gumption to do that.
You'll enjoy yourself here. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. And there is a wicked sense of humour on this forum. Have fun!

Hello Everyone~
A friend of mine introduced me to this website. For the past few days, I've been lurking, and I must say, I'm very impressed. I'm glad I joined this forum
I have always been interested in photography, I just never took the time to REALLY get into it. Well that changed a few months ago, when I decided to buy a Nikon D40. After reading many reviews, I figured the D40 would make a great "beginner's" camera. So far, I've been extremely satisfied with it. I'm currently reading the book "Life's Guide to Digital Photography", and I have learned quite a few things. I am also confident that I will learn a great deal from all of you.

Hello everyone.
I recently found the amasing website, and decide to join you.
I hope i can learn from you, and post my photos also.
Thanks for everything, see you soon!
Hi Manish (is that your first name?)
Welcome to the CiC forums from me, good to have another Nikon shooter along.
If I may; where in the world are you and what subjects do you enjoy photographing the most??
Don't hesitate to ask questions or post images for critique.
Best regards,
Hi "elfpics",
Best way to learn here is to join in, so don't hold back with questions or images for critique.
It would be helpful if we had a first name as they always seem more friendly than usernames and we try to be very friendly here.

Hi Paul,
Good intro post.
What have you let yourself in for; Well, photography isn't cheap, but I guess competitive biking wasn't either
Did you get a twin lenses deal on the camera so you have a lens to get some shots from the trackside, or is a telephoto on your Xmas wish list?
My 'outlaws' used to live in Petersfield, that's what I associate with Hampshire (other than 'Susan' of course)
Showing my age, so I better stop.
There's no such thing as a dumb/stupid question, so 'ask away'.

Hi there "WF",
Welcome to the CiC forums from me, great to have you join us.
Do participate, it is the best way to learn more, whether that be from constructive feedback on your images or answering those 'I've never quite understood' questions.
If we could have a first name too, that would be great - thanks.
All the best,

Hi Nuno,
Of course you can - just ask questions and post images, if you need help with that, click here for the easiest option, or see other possibilities here.
My interest piqued, I did google "Santo Tirso" to discover where that is (Portugal), I expect you have some great landscapes there.
What camera are you shooting with?
