    Magic Carpet Ride

Now unable to access any of my regular photo locations I cheered up this morning when this little guy was making use of my old newspapers.

Technically they are not good but the best of around 20 captures I managed to get of his many trips over an hour. If he's back tomorrow I have some ideas on camera and lighting re-positioning for improvement.

So difficult to get perfect focus on those small fast moving subjects. I reckon that if I get 1% success rate I am doing well and even then my best results have been when they are coming in to land or just taking off so I can pre focus on a more stable target.

I watched his flight path for some time Geoff and then pre-focussed on a pencil where I thought best but he's not too consistent. At f/32 there's a DoF of around 10mm.

He's not come back today, I hope only due to the heavy rain.
