Katy...... You have plenty of incredible shots. The equipment doesnt make the shot the person behind the equipment does.

I was going through some old pictures and look what I found! Does it count as macro? It was shot with my P&S! O.o

Absolutely, and it shows why people don't necessarily need a DSLR!
Getting that DoF with a DSLR would be much more difficult, just look at some of my efforts

    Nice one

    Platycheirus peltatus male

For me, my 180 mm macro lens is an essential tool for insect identification.

    Mini Competition: Macro photography

A close up of the front 'foot' is essential to separate this Platycheirus peltatus from around 10 virtually identical members of the same family. Males of the various species all have slight differences to their front legs.

But actually getting sufficiently close and at the correct angle is a major problem with live, in the wild, insects.

    Rhingia rostrata

And here, the slightly shorter snout, lack of any black on the abdomen and a slightly bluish tint to the thorax (as opposed to a dense black) proves that this is the rare Rhingia rostrata instead of the very common and almost identical Rhingia campestris.
