    Thanks, Dan. Regrettably, I forget how, and I had only kept the JPEG.

    I'll hazard a guess and say that I shot it on the bench with a black backcloth - and then labored away in FastStone Viewer with the Clone/Heal tool.

    Iit was well before I got the GIMP, so nothing fancy ...

    I really like its raw, rough look; the deep contrast with the back ground accentuates the look
