Hamadryus Baboon
One of my lucky shots, though I did recognise the occasion. Settings were f6.3; 1/500sec; ISO 720; 195 mms (292.5 equiv) on a Nikon D5200 with a Nikkor 18-300 lens 3.5-6.3. Cropped initially to not show the very apparent genitalia, however, thinking about it now, the outcome concentrates the view where it is best, regardless.

Yes, a very good formal portrait.

Re: Hamadryus Baboon
Well done , why not shoot at a higher f-stop for a little more detail of the hairs especially around the head. Just a thought, terrific capture.

Love his face. Why not just concentrate on his face in a square format. I think that all the green dominate.
Cheers Ole

Re: Hamadryus Baboon
Thanks for all the feedback, everyone, much appreciated! I have revisited the image, partly because of the green background dominating. Have taken on board the idea of a square format, Ole. Although I had brightened and worked on the contrast of the eyes, the whites didn't look bright enough, so have brightened just them a bit more. Now they compete with the teeth, I think! Next time, Raymond I will remember to use a higher f-stop (fingers crossed).
