Nice shots. I particularly like the hover, and I'm intrigued by the other fly. I don't recall ever seeing one with those stripes.

This may be just my taste, but one reason I like the hover image more than that of the other fly is your position. I find bugs much more interesting if shot from the side or front, at roughly their level, than shot from the top. Shooting from the top gives the same perspective a passer-by would have, although of course much closer. IMHO, that makes those shots less interesting.

Hi Dan i always like to shoot from the front or side i think its a much better picture from eye level not always possible though and i will take from avove if theres no ther option , the fly is a flesh fly by the way
