This is another image I spent a few hours on retouching today.
It was taken at the Amber Fort, which is in Rajastan, India not from the city of Jaipur. These elephants are used to transport tourists from the street level up to the fort up on top of a hill. While these places are called "forts" because the local Raja had troops stationed there, they were really royal palaces.
Golden hour in these sub-tropical areas are very short, less than 30 minutes, as I recall, so we did not get to the site at great light. It was still reasonably early in the morning, so I tried to calm the light and shadows to create a better balance in the image. This is definitely a work in progress, but it's far enough along to post.
