Looks like a nice scene - and I like the light rays. On the down side, I'm wondering if a less symetrical shot would work better (my experience is that only reflection type shots typically look best with things centred) (possibly shot from a different angle).
Hope this helps,

Hmmm,
I know what you mean, and I played around with the image initially for that very reason and produced some variations.
However it was unusual: the centered version did seem to stand out the most / had more dramatic effect.
So I went withit
I know what you mean - it's easy for people like me to say "try another angle", but at the end of the day, I can't see what might have been in the shot if it was taken at a different angle.
Personally, I like benches in shots - here's one I shot a while back ...

this pic is pretty good but i would have preffered a prettier lady sitting on the bench to make the pic that much attractive the cowboy hat just makes me cringe thinking he must have been shot dead in a gun battle coming to the composition, this pic has frame within frame! the inner silhouette of tree leaves, are acting as a second frame to enhance the dreaded cowboy hat! i like the composition....creates a neat balance thats almost right i think the bench itself looks a little slanting.........??? i think! must be my eyes
still think bench better tilted (1.6 deg CC), rays a bit rayer and maybe some saturation brought back in? Oh and have cropped a bit tighter to emphasise light dark axis top left to bottom right
