This shot from near the Monkey Temple gives an overview of a less affluent part of town rarely seen by tourists to this famous "Pink City" in Rajasthan, India. The haze in the background gives an indication of air quality in this part of the world

No it is the evening shot and the brightly lit area is the Suraj Pol Gate.

Wow, a very interesting image, Manfred. One's eye is certainly drawn immediately to the gate. Amazing how lit up it is with, seemingly, just two fairly standard lights. Intesting to see the constant flow along that particular street. The derelict buildings pose the question, is land so available and inexpensive that it is not worth pulling them down, or renovating them?

These are not abandoned buildings, but unlike what we see in developed countries, the lighting used in the buildings and in the streets is used quite frugally.
