Oliver and Robin at ISO 6400

I have had my A6600 with 70-350mm G OSS lens mounted sitting near my family room sliding door hoping to catch an image of a squirrel who is often seen trying to climb up on the metal bar supporting my bird feeder. As I turned around, I saw Oliver and Robin in a cute pose sitting on the family room couch. Since this is such a typical pose for these two best friends that I wanted to capture it.

The 70-350mm lens has a variable aperture of f/4.5 to 6.3 so, it is not really a lens designed for low light situations. However, I switched the A6600 on to programmed mode and auto ISO which provided me an exposure of f/5 at 125 second with an ISO of 6400.

This is a far higher ISO than I usually shoot but, the image did not come out terrible. I used a combination of ACR and NIK Dfine noise reduction on this shot.

Only NIK Dfine on this one but, reduced the size to that which I would normally post on our rescue site....

Nice to make the most of an unexpected opportunity, I really like the processing & colour tones of the second image.
