    Throwing the Ball and Chain

Going through my photos and thought I would try combining three of them. The shadow needs work, I know, in fact redone …………. but otherwise? Worth persevering?

Interesting shot, but I am having problems figuring out what the subject is.

Logically, it should be the athlete, but he has been swallowed up with the "frame". You might want to look at cropping heavily to see where an appropriate balance comes out. I'd work with it before I gave up on the shot; it does have potential.

I agree with Manfred that it's hard to figure out what the subject should be. I did a try at cropping but that didn't help (at least for me). If the subject were to be the foreground elements, then the athlete would be a bland afterthought, which would be distracting in itself. If it was an an actual capture through an actual portal such as a keyhole that was obvious to the viewer, it would be more interesting to contemplate, but that is not the impression, so I really don't know what I'd do with it, to be honest.
