Absolutely stunning image Dan. my only comment (relevant I don't know) would be the upper petal on my right is cropped in half and I'm not sure if including it all somehow would have been better.

Sharon, it's all taste of course, but this is something that I have thought about a lot--in general, not just for this image. When I started doing flowers, I usually avoided that sort of crop. However, I started looking at how various artists handled this issue, and they often produced very appealing and powerful images that do have edges cropped. One example is Renoir's Peonies, which I go to see (or did before COVID) at least once a year at the Clark Institute. You can get a little view of it here: https://www.wikiart.org/en/pierre-au...renoir/peonies. You'll see that he cut off flowers on both sides as well as the top.
So, I decided just to go with what looks good to me. In this case, I didn't want to move the core part of the image down to make more room at the top. it might not have been the best decision, at least in the eyes of some viewers.

Great photo. You know how to make black look black and the other colors full and saturated.
