These are, obviously, accomplished pictures and are nice images of two young people. But, for me (and this is the personal taste thing again), two doesn't work so well as one (subjects).
Now, I suspect Colin didn't intend these to be something considered in the same light as the 'Laura' portraits. They are not the same as those and that is a acknowledged.
Maybe I'm just too 'traditional' in the way I think about portraits?
Hi Donald,
To be honest, more than 1 subject is something I need to learn to work with, but that aside, it's also somewhat refreshing
At the end of the day I just wanted to get some nice shots of the two of them together (which they wanted) - I'm happy with them
The lighting looks spot on. Very well one. It suits the two girls beautifully.
Would you mind sharing some tips and tricks about your lighting setup?
Hi Jeroen,
Thanks
It only took 4 lights!
I used my light box to provide under-lighting around chin / neck area - an octabox to the camera left of the girls to provide some direction to the light (key light) - a hair light to light the hair - and another fill flash strobe (shoot-through umbrella) aimed at them to reduct the shadow between them.
