Fairy Wren project
My goal to follow and photograph these tiny birds is going to keep me busy for some time I think.
They are very quick & I also want to not only get close enough, but have a specific background that complements as well.
They hop across the lawn, but the grass in winter isn’t the best.
They also hop on the brush fencing we have, but then they are camouflaged as it’s only females or immature males I’ve seen so far, none of the bright blue males.
Ah well, it’s good to have a project, especially when we can’t go out anywhere at the moment.
I quite liked these 2, but will keep working on it.

Re: Fairy Wren project
You've captured plenty of feather detail and nice catchlights in the eyes, well done. I think these two image could be improved so that the background is a single colour, i.e. to remove the dark top and light brown at the right side of the images.

Re: Fairy Wren project
Beautiful bird image; Peter had mentioned what i too felt when i saw the image; image would be even more precious if the blue fills the back ground completely.

Re: Fairy Wren project
Thank you Peter and Nandakumar for your replies.
I will try your advice, either crop or clone to achieve the even background.
I do hope some bright blue males come around soon too.
Thanks again
