    Fall snow

Old photograph from when we had our previous boy (male lab) on a hike up Easy Pass (name is completely misleading). It was fall, but we still got snowed on.
A better photo w/o the pup in it most likely, but none-the-less he was there and part of the experience.

It’s a lovely scene, with the paths and geological features as leading lines that guide the eye despite the complex mix of colors in the foreground and middle ground.

    Thank you Tom.
Cropping out the dog and foreground gives a different focus I guess.

Dogs always come first for me, but wow Sharon, you are blessed to live in such beautiful scenery.

Thanks Peter. Looking forward to seeing what Southern Oregon brings in terms of fall scenes. Very beautiful here but different topography, as long as the smoke stays at bay we can get out.

I suspect that the snow fall season up in the mountains is a lot longer than when one gets to lower altitudes. That "dusting" of snow certainly adds to the landscape, even though that suggests that warmer clothes are a requirement to get out.

Your dog acts as an anchor to lock the viewer into the image. In my view, your first image is stronger than the cropped on because of the dog's presence.
