    Black & White + Green - Revisited

This is an image that is almost 10 years old and I was never quite satisfied with it. Today I was literally flipping by some old shots when I stumbled across this one again and looking at it, I suddenly knew exactly what I had to do with it. A bit of a crop on the top and bottom, burning down the collar, adding some noise on the white areas of the neck and some rather hard sharpening.

Now it finally looks good to me.

That is a striking image, Manfred. The eyes are done beautifully. I do like the light shining on the model's right side. The rather hard sharpening was, to me, the clincher.
    Cheers Ole

Ohh...that's one scary set of makeup Manfred. It has created a very strong image. The colours and processing work very well.
What was the driver for the make up?

One of my photographic instructors suggested that I attend a makeup course at the local community college to better understand how the face is prepared and refined by a makeup artist (MUA), so that I could apply these learnings to my photo retouching. It was a win-win scenario.

I learned about makeup work and the makeup artists got some really high quality images for their portfolios. The MUA that did this was interested in the theatrical side of makeup. Can you tell?

The funny part of the story is that I gave both the model and the MUA prints. In this case, the model's mother did not recognize her own daughter.

Thanks for the back story Manfred, I did suspect it had a MUA in play somewhere
