    Melania, a little too much pure black especially at left. Maybe a 1:1 crop with a dark gray background and a little more micro-contrast to bring out the hair -although some members might prefer the softer look.

    I agree with Ted. I think it's fine for the image to fade into black, but there's too much black for my taste. I would rather see more of your face.

    Even though you lit the face from below, it might be useful to look at Rembrandt lighting. It's from above, but it shows a way of partially illuminating the dark side of the face.

    I would make the same comment as Dan, plus the ones I make on your Self Portrait (2) image.

    The light is hot and hard and coming from below. It strikes both shoulders, which is a bit distracting. Your cheek is quite "hot" and the all important eye is under exposed.

    This is an interesting experiment, but I find it is not working particularly well for me.
