A few more shots that I took late last week on a short outing to the Mer Bleue Bog, which is located at the eastern side of Ottawa. It is interesting as the landscape looks very much like the northern bogs up near James Bay or Hudson Bay. It is considered an important wetland and is protected under the Ramsar Convention.
It was an amazing day with temperatures up at 25°C / 77°F at a time of year when temperatures are normally around 6°C / 43°F. It was also very quiet as the bog lies under the flight path for planes coming in to land at Ottawa's main MacDonald-Cartier International Airport; we did not see (or hear) a single plane.
