    Mer Bleue Bog

A few more shots that I took late last week on a short outing to the Mer Bleue Bog, which is located at the eastern side of Ottawa. It is interesting as the landscape looks very much like the northern bogs up near James Bay or Hudson Bay. It is considered an important wetland and is protected under the Ramsar Convention.

It was an amazing day with temperatures up at 25°C / 77°F at a time of year when temperatures are normally around 6°C / 43°F. It was also very quiet as the bog lies under the flight path for planes coming in to land at Ottawa's main MacDonald-Cartier International Airport; we did not see (or hear) a single plane.

This is not the sort of landscape that is jaw-dropping spectacular but one that repays contemplation. I like them all, it especially the first.

#2 is my favorite. I think you captured the scene very effectively.

Beautiful images; like them all; i have just one suggestion; in the last image the blackish tree top on the left hand side drags undue attention....

I could not decide if that was a distraction or something that catches the viewer's eye. Here is the cleaned up version.

I think it is more pleasing now(even though it was a pea under 20 mats )

Nice set, and probably and equally relaxing day. If votes count, put me down for the Tamarack one. And I think Nandakumar was spot on.
