    I think one of my goals was to capture the tree yet give it scale against the landscape....which is indeed vast.
    The Palouse region is famous for its rolling wheat fields. Best times are fall and spring (gorgeous green).

    What is the "main subject"? The Tree or the swirly harvester(?) tracks?

    If the tree, I'd do a huge crop and place the center-of-area of the tree Manfred-knows-where.

    Great question. I guess the tree in and of itself could have merit as the subject (is it that interesting?) and your edit makes sense.
    On the flip side the Palouse itself with its rolling wheat fields is spectacular in its own stark and weird beauty. It’s a famous place for photographers. However without knowing this I would suspect the image is confusing, as the subject could be either, yet I was try8ng to emphasize the landscape with the lone tree. So, I should rethink this kind of strategy 😊
