    Another Fire Sky

From our Ashland house, the sky can be quite impressive at times in Southern Oregon.
Room for improvement on this, and yet another sunset shot, but I liked the sky against the mountains.

You just gotta love those vivid sunsets. I wish there were more of them. Well done Sharon, a great image

Thanks for the comments. The sky is a fun work of art at times, but as Manfred would say, there are so many photos of sunsets out there, it’s difficult to be unique or interesting. Alas this photo doesn’t present as either, but still fun to snap.

Wow, this is 'Glow'rious indeed; it is "heroism" without Hero in the frame

That is a great image is Sharon of a very dramatic sky, well done.

I have a number of images of similar red sky's taken from a bedroom window. I usually include the tree line as a bit of interest to ground the image. However mine are sun rise images rather than sunset.

Great image Sharon, a cut above 'standard' as you're blessed with a complementary and natural silhouette landscape.

My local urban environment of roofs and TV aerials (antenna), plus the odd tree, just doesn't 'cut it' compared to this.

Your shot made me wonder if the inverted topography of the cloud base* was greater than the hills below it.
    * which is also unusual to see

    Cheers,
    Dave

Thanks for the comments and thoughts always appreciate hearing good perspectives.
Yes there are often inversions with the two mountain ranges and valleys. We live in north Ashland on the east side of interstate 5 in a rural valley. The mountainous side of ashaland across i 5 is what we get to see theirs the great sky, cloud and even fog scenes ... with mountain backdrops 😊
Hope to get some more decent opportunities for more photos.

Great shot!! I'm glad the fire is in the sky and not around there on the ground any more. You guys have had enough of that kind of stuff.

Brian, you are certainly correct! The fires started pretty close to us (about a half mile from our home) and the winds were so strong they blew north and nearly all of Talent and Phoenix were burned to the ground. It still looks like a war zone. You guys had fires coming pretty close as well

Happy we are getting some rain over the next few days. This last summer was abnormally hot we are hoping that isn't the new normal.

This is what it looked like from our house when the fires started (you can see the trees and our swing blowing)
