This is Alan; a spritely 93 year old fellow. Over the years, I have spent many hours watching him and how his facial expressions change. Sometimes, for a fleeting moment, I can see the face of a much younger man behind his aging exterior. He agreed to this impromptu photo shoot, and under the fluoro lights of the local community hall I took this image.
I chose the sepia toning to help hide the distracting blotchiness of his skin but leaving the wrinkles that add to his character

That processing choice works very well Martin, he looks a character.

I see that you have captured and communicated the face of many experiences.

This is a very powerful portrait. The composition is excellent, and I think the processing is effective. Kudos.

I have only one suggestion, and it's minor (and a matter of taste). I think I would dodge slightly some of the areas of the face that are in shadow, primarily on his right. I wouldn't do much, but I think a bit might help.

Excellent image that was taken and processed in a way that brings out the character of this old gentleman.

The skin is blotchy and has some hot sports, especially on his forehead. If it were my image, I would spend some time burning those areas down a bit.

Thank you for your suggestion Manfred. I was wondering about those hot spots. I will continue working on this image with that in mind,

Also the ones on his hand. Great image as it is, though so regard this and the other comments as opportuntiies to make a great shot even better.
