    Filler Up

Took this last year in a small town upstate New York. She worked in a gas station I had stopped in. It was a quick shot under terrible lighting conditions. I worked on some of the flaws like the dark shadow to the side of her chin. I like the realness and honesty of her face. Comments welcomed.

Tough shot with that baseball cap on as it throws the top part of her face into shadow as well as accentuating the redness of her skin. The lower part of the face is too "hot" as is the background. It looks like you were shooting a wide angle lens here, generally not something we do in an image like this because it causes major distortions of the face, especially the chin and nose. Try to shoot with a much longer focal length.

No secret here Richard. Just a woman doing a nontraditional job.

Thank you for reworking the image and suggestions. I Will try removing the subject and darkening the background before I move on.
I recently bought my first lens for my Lumix GX85. A 25mm 1.7. It acts as a 50mm equivalent and should do well for these types of photos. So far I have been having fun testing and learning the lens.

I would suggest a 40 - 70mm focal length (80 - 140mm full frame equivalent) would be more appropriate for this shot. 25mm is too wide.
