Celebrated tonight

I took my wife out to dinner at the best restaurant in town tonight to celebrate. One of her pictures was chosen to be displayed next month in the annual Juried Exhibition at the Art Center. This is the second year one of hers has been chosen.

This is not the one we thought would be even in the running, but, who's complaining?

I had one chosen, also. I was surprised that the Dragon Iris didn't get chosen, but I'll take it.

I particularly like how the corn shot really looks "frozen in time"/ancient. Calls to mind not a modern corn field but something more primitive and natural, rather "first Thanksgiving" if you know what I mean. I also like the color pallette and depth of field.

Fit, that corn shot was one of those "need another" shots. We could submit 4 each and she was looking for something different to round things out, so she went over to the neighbor's corn field and took some shots. (He is quite late harvesting, this year.) It was submitted just as a filler and was chosen.

What is interesting is that Hover Flly-Still was the one I tossed in as a filler, also.

I just got word that one of my student's was chosen, also!!! Ten years old! Needless to say, he is a little excited. I think I am more excited about that than having ours chosen.
