Texas Snailshell - what kind of spiral?

In spite of the hype, Texas stuff is not always big. This one is quite average, about three-fourths of an inch across.

By "kind of spiral", I mean Fibonacci, et al.

Hi Ted. I find the first image in the first post to look to be out of focus (or back-focussed). The second post in colour is much better.

Always like to see anything connected to the great Leonardo of Pisa. He has had a great influence on my life.

Thank you Peter. Yes, they were different shots both standing on my wobbly legs and hand-holding the G9 and the Leica 45mm macro about 6" away under the desk-lamp. I'll probably try again with a tripod and proper lighting sometime ...

Interesting. Drifting off slightly, I have used a Golden Angle roof pitch around here and I studiously avoid the rule of thirds ...

Colour is probably better but if you said the first one was a hologram I would've said you nailed it. Not sure if it just looks like this to me but I still like it for this reason.

It's also a "lefty", starting at the centre, the shell coils anticlockwise. Be interesting to know if that's common in the species, or a rarity

Yes, that is why I said "exaggerated contrast and sharpness".

I was looking more for comments on the type of spiral.

Some further research tells me it is possibly equi-angular logarithmic and not necessarily Fibonacci ...
