    NY State Capitol

Spent last weekend in Albany, NY. Home of our state capitol. Two shots are from our hotel room and the books were on a shelf behind me in the hotel restaurant. Comments welcomed.

I like all these Daniel. How good to see a John Hedgecoe book. With years of the internet you kinda forget the things you once read in a physical form.

Thank you, Mark. The book was new to me. I thumbed through it and liked it.

    The building EXIF: f/8. 1.6 sec, ISO-800, 16mm
It was a handheld shot. Thank you Mandakumar for commenting.

The first shot is definitely the strongest of the three. The books have been nicely set up, the composition is strong (including the background elements) and has been well taken.

The other two images do not work as well for me.

The building shot has potential, but the lighting is a bit strange; mixed lighting where you have some natural (blue hour?) and artificial light is giving the shot a bit of a strange appearance.

The third one, in my view has potential as the person in the window, furniture in the room and view out the window all look like they have potential, but this image will take a lot of dodging and burning to meld these various elements into an effective composition.

Oh my! Kind of funny. I have to be more careful when I type. Thank you for the Sanskrit lesson and for being so good-natured.
