Texas Bluebonnets

The bluebonnet is the State flower of Texas. They seem plentiful this year:



Processed in RawTherapee. It was a dull day. They look better in sunlight but then highlights get bothersome. How do y'all deal with dull days outside? I leave mine a bit dull for veracity.

Taken along the lines of the Merklinger method rather than at the exact hyperfocal distance. Close up objects more than 18/8 = 2.3mm remain quite recognizable while the fire hydrant (my point of focus) is nice and sharp as are it's nearby flowers.

Very nicely seen, Ted, including the fencepost is a plus because of its texture. Lacking a bit of punch - maybe some more contrast? (plus a touch more vibrance?) Others, like Manfred will interpret and make suggestions better than I.

Jim, yes, it's bit dull. I might go back when it's sunny and fight the Texas sun ...

I'd personally boost the contrast, but I would do it in L only, as the image already seems highly saturated. A quick and dirty gave me this:

I agree with Dan on needing more contrast and I find that the saturation on the yellows and greens is too high and needs to come down.

I find the fence and especially the fence post on the bottom right to be distracting.

I liked both original and Dan's edit; former, when it is a bit cloudy and latter when it is sunny. Both look Natural
